We have daily fitness classes and monthly activities like yoga, kayaking, hiking, camping, etc.  Anything to spice up your daily dog walks so that you can bond with your best furry friend and get a great workout.   Jack is our Cairn Terrier mascot who will keep you updated on all of the fun events that he has coming up and show you photos of the ones that we already had.  We plan on doing a lot of communication through this blog so please visit often and feel free to leave your comments.

You see it all of the time at a very busy dog event, farmers market, or walking event; people are using retractable leashes on their dog.  The person’s dog is roaming all over the place, the leash is at full length, and it trips somebody or worst cuts their leg. Retractable leashes are dangerous and should never be used at a busy event.  If the dog starts running and somebody grabs the leash, a dangerous cut or worse a finger amputation could happen and it has, many times. Lost Dog!! What do you do?

Have you ever experienced any doggy parents worst nightmare–losing your dog? Or, have you ever found a dog and didn’t know what to do.  This is the time of year where many people go away and leave their dogs with neighbors, dog walkers or friends. If your dog is not comfortable, they may slip their collar and run off. This happened to a friend and the dog ran off and was never found. Thanksgiving Turkey Gobblers For the Pups

Thanksgiving Turkey Gobblers (You can make these with all those little scraps off the leftover turkey- Makes about 2 doz cookies) 1 c. turkey scraps, chopped fine (or ground turkey, cooked) 2 c. flour (I use Bob’s Red Mill gluten free, or a combination of brown rice & buckwheat flour) 1 c. cornmeal 1 egg 3 Tablespoons vegetable oil 3/4 c. water 2 teaspoons tarragon Preheat oven to 375 F. Combine flour and cornmeal in a large bowl. In a separate bowl, combine egg, water, oil and tarragon. Beat well.  Add dry ingredients to the wet ingredient and mix well.

Donations, Donations, Donations!

Our supply drive for Second Chance Dog Rescue was a success. Thanks to our generous class participants, we delivered 2 truck loads of supplies at the end of the week.  The pups got new leashes, collars, beds, toys, treats, tons of food and even flea and tick medication.  To finish off our supply drive week of classes, we had a free Dog Yoga fundraising class at Camp Run a Mutt complete with a doggy adoption and photo sessions by Oh My Dog Photography.   The class was a huge hit and everyone left happy, limber and relaxed and 2 dogs
