Jack Leash Your FitnessLeash Your fitness is all about being active with your pet. We have daily fitness classes and monthly activities like yoga, kayaking, hiking, camping, etc.  Anything to spice up your daily dog walks so that you can bond with your best furry friend and get a great workout.   Jack is our Cairn Terrier mascot who will keep you updated on all of the fun events that he has coming up and show you photos of the ones that we already had.  We plan on doing a lot of communication through this blog so please visit often and feel free to leave your comments.

Do you have any stairs near you?  We are lucky, we have them at a lot of our parks in San Diego.  Any amount of stairs will do but the longer the better. Running or walking the stairs is a great cardio and leg workout.  I like to add an exercise at the top each time.  If there is a table, you can add pushups, dips, tricep pushups or anything that you want. Dog Snow Day

Dog Snow Day

It isn’t often that it snows in San Diego so when it does, mommy likes to take me to play in the snow.  We only going during the week because it is usually very busy on the weekends.  We have a few places that we usually go to avoid the crowds off of the 79 in the Laguna Mountains where dogs are allowed. Mommy likes to go to  and see how pretty it looks surrounded by the snow.  No dogs are allowed in or around the lake because it is part of the Cuyamaca State Park but it is fun

Upper Body Workout

If you have a rainy day that you can’t get outside to get a workout in, we have a fun workout for you to try. This entire workout takes less than 10 minutes and it will work your Triceps, Shoulders, Lower Back, and Core.  It will even get your heart rate up a little. You can throw the toy for your dog while you are doing the exercises so that Fido gets a workout too! Or you can put them in a down stay and work on their dog obedience.  Jack was depressed because he just wanted to go outside!!

5 Peak Challenge

5 Peak Challenge

We are so proud of our Trail Dogs Run Group.  They have been training really hard and are getting very strong on their runs.  To start 2016 off they RAN the Mission Trails 5 Peak Challenge.   To make it a little more challenging than it already is, they RAN/HIKED it all in one day! The total mileage ended up being 16 miles, but it isn’t the mileage that is the challenging part.
