Jack Leash Your FitnessLeash Your fitness is all about being active with your pet. We have daily fitness classes and monthly activities like yoga, kayaking, hiking, camping, etc.  Anything to spice up your daily dog walks so that you can bond with your best furry friend and get a great workout.   Jack is our Cairn Terrier mascot who will keep you updated on all of the fun events that he has coming up and show you photos of the ones that we already had.  We plan on doing a lot of communication through this blog so please visit often and feel free to leave your comments.

Move it Monday: Burpees

Move it Monday: Burpees

It’s Monday!  That means it’s time to MOVE IT!  Today we have everyone’s favorite exercise: burpees!  While out on your dog walk, try and do a full minute, and count how many you do.  See if you can beat that number later in your walk after a brief rest to bring your heart rate back down.  This is a VERY effective full body exercise and cardio burst to add to your walk.  You will burn tons of calories and strengthen muscles in your arms, core, and legs.  Click the image below for a video on how to do these properly.

Cowles Full Moon Hike

Last Friday we took advantage of the time change and a full moon and went on a night hike up Cowles Mountain!  We had a really fun group of 12 Leash Your Fitness hikers and their pups which included some old friends and some new faces.   Cowles Mountain is the highest peak in San Diego city limits at 1,592 feet, and the trail totals about 3 miles round trip.  At times the trail was steep, but all of our hikers and dogs were up to the challenge!  We were so lucky to have a perfectly clear night and throughout the
