East County 5k

Another fun 5k was had by all! This one was in East County and it sure was pretty!!  Our Leash Your Fitness team did the warm up and led the 5k for the Jingle Paws Walk at the Cuyamaca College Water Conservation Garden.  I have to say that this one was of our prettier and more interesting 5k’s and great for the walkers as they really got to enjoy all of the beautiful plant life PLUS we got to sit next to Santa Clause! The walk benefited the El Cajon Animal Shelter and it raised nearly $5,000!!

Father Joe’s 5k is a GREAT way to start the day on Thanksgiving morning!  Raising money for an important cause PLUS burning calories before the big feast. CCI Dog Fest

CCI Dog Fest

This past weekend Leash Your Fitness helped  Canine Companions for Independence Dog Fest event raise $118,000. for their paw-mazing organization!  We were just a very small part of the day but every dollar matters!   Did you know that CCI works strictly off of donations? RB Dog Park Anniversary and Fit4Fido

We fit lots of fun into our weekends here at Leash Your Fitness!  Not only do we have our regularly scheduled classes, but we have fun at special events across the county! On Saturday, Dawn had a booth and demonstrated several exercises you can add to your daily dog walk at the Rancho Bernardo Dog Park 10th Anniversary.  Naomi led a boot camp class to help raise money for two local rescues at the Fit4Fido event at Spanish Landing. Doggie Dash 5k!

Doggie Dash 5k!

Sunday September 14th, Leash Your Fitness participated in the Doggie Dash 5k to benefit FACE: the Foundation for Animal Care and Education. FACE provides financial assistance for life-saving veterinary procedures for pets in San Diego County.  We couldn’t wait to support such a great cause!  The race took place at Roadrunner Sports and even though it was scorching hot day, we still had tons of fun!  We set up our booth and greeted lots of friendly people and dogs.  There was face painting, a pool with ice water for the dogs to cool off in, and even an agility course for the pups to try out!
