The last 5k of the year was PERFECT! It was a beautiful 80 degree day and SANTA WAS THERE! I think we surprised him when 21 dogs and 21 ladies came to sit on his lap! There was also a VERY LARGE mistletoe so you know our mommy’s had to stand under it and give us kisses! YUK! Our Leash Your Fitness runners and walkers had a really fun time and they got lots of goodies at the end and it was all to benefit a great cause, The Arthritis Foundation. Where else in the country do they close down major streets in the city for a Holiday Pet Parade?? San Diego rocks when it comes to being dog friendly and that was proven again today with thousands coming out in their Santa Hats, Elf suits and Holiday Gear for the 6th annual Gaslamp Holiday Pet Parade in San Diego. We LOVE doing fitness related activities with our dogs but we also like to do other “dog related” activities that are not necessarily burning calories! As a matter of fact, sometimes we are consuming calories! The Leash Your Fitness family got together for a Paint Your Pooch party at Paint N Vineyard in Scripps Ranch. Although the dogs weren’t invited, they were present in another way, we painted pictures of them! There are Yappy Hours and there are YAPPY HOURS!! The Ritz Carlton in Laguna Niguel has a YAPPY HOUR the 2nd Thursday of every month and it is really cool!! We got to be outside on the grass overlooking the beautiful Pacific Ocean–we even saw whales and they weren’t that far away!! There was food and drinks available for mommy & her friends and they were passing around FREE dog treats for me and my friends!! Guess where we got to spend the night? At the Glamorous Ritz Carlton in Laguna Niguel. Did you know that they are dog friendly? I got to appear in their Posh Pooch Video highlighting all of the FUN amenities that they have for dogs! And now I got to check them out myself! The whole area is very dog friendly!
