We are so proud of our Trail Dogs Run Group. They have been training really hard and are getting very strong on their runs. To start 2016 off they RAN the Mission Trails 5 Peak Challenge. To make it a little more challenging than it already is, they RAN/HIKED it all in one day!
The total mileage ended up being 16 miles, but it isn’t the mileage that is the challenging part. As the name implies, there are a lot of peaks and valley to this challenge.

Most of the girls on our Trail Dog team only began running last year and we couldn’t be more proud of their accomplishments and dedication. They run in our Saturday Strut with Your Mutt class and they are part of our Trail Dogs online team. Together they do 5k’s, 10ks, Half Marathons, Adventure Races and fun runs like the Mission Trails 5 Peak Challenge just to keep things interesting!
Cheryl started in our Dog Yoga classes a few years ago and then progressed to the Sunday bootcamp classes. She decided that she needed to lose weight for health reasons and started very slowly running with us. With each challenge that she completed starting with a 5k, she kept upping her next challenge. Last year she really stepped outside of her comfort zone and did the Spartan Race with us! She, along with her new running friends completed this challenge in ONE DAY!!
Denise joined our trail running team to help her to stay focused and inspired. It has worked! She did the Ragnar Trail Race with us last year and is signed up for the Triple Crown with our team this year and she also completed the 5 peak challenge to start her year off.

The girls did half of the challenge with their dogs and then they gave their dogs a break during the other half. Sixteen miles is a long way for most dogs.
I decided that I wanted Jack to do the entire challenge with me so I broke it up into 2 days. At 11 years old, I didn’t know how well he would do. Not only did he do the 19 miles that we ran, we went back on the 3rd day and completed one of the peaks again with his daddy who had biked every peak except for Kwaay Paay. He is my little rockstar! I think the his new Joint Supplement is helping him feel better!

The 5 Peak Challenge was just another way that we like to challenge the gals that come to our classes. They are dedicated to improving their health and continuing to get more fit. We would LOVE to help you to get stronger and find new ways to improve your health and make fitness fun!
No need to be intimidated, think that you could never do something like this or think that you can’t keep up. These gals started right where YOU are and they would LOVE to inspire you to challenge yourself!
SIGN UP for one of our classes or events. That is the FIRST STEP to meeting your new workout friends!
