Holiday Dog Yoga/ Bootcamp Fundraiser Class

The holiday Dog Yoga/ Bootcamp Fundraiser / Dog Birthday class was a success!! Leash Your Fitness raised $360. and 83 items for Furry Foster in one class!! It only took 2 instructors, a photographer, 25 dogs and 22 people to accomplish this! Gina made her yoga debut today after completing her yoga certification!! What a way to start her career! She did a great job relaxing half of the class while Naomi RAN the other half over jumps, A frames, and other “cardio” exercises to tire the dogs so that they would actually sit still for the yoga portion!

Halloween Fun Class

Today was mommy’s favorite Leash Your Fitness holiday class! Halloween!! She had all kinds of fun stuff planned for our gals and their pups!! We played games and even got to eat hotdogs!!! One of the games was puppy pushups! Chami won by doing 13 puppy pushups which is going from a sit to a down = 1! Then we played musical cones (instead of chairs)! Balance and Core exercises for Dogs

Did you know that there are balance exercises for dogs? Do you know WHY they are important? Dogs put 60 – 80% of their weight on their front legs which puts a lot of stress on their elbows and shoulders. By strengthening their core and the tiny supporting leg muscles they are less likely to get injured. It is also a great mental & physical challenge for them AND it gives them a sense of accomplishment! Dog Yoga & Doggy Easter Egg Hunt for Furry Foster

We had a new group of dogs today for our Leash Your Fitness doggy Easter egg hunt & yoga class. The class was a fundraiser for Furry Foster so they brought some of their friends to Muttropolis for class. Mommy got there early and hid 90 eggs filled with doggy treats! They had 10 minutes to find them all. Helen & Tacquito found 17 of them! It figures the smallest dog got the most treats! They won a $50. gift certificate to Home Buddies. Next Fitness Challenge begins in May!

What our last winner had to say: Just want to thank Dawn and Leash your Fitness for my success on the fitness challenge. The 6 weeks went by really quick. I liked starting out with the 3 day detox. It wasn’t as hard as I thought it was going to be and boy I felt so much better after the 3 days. I loved the shopping trip with Kelly.
