We had an extremely busy weekend this past weekend. It all started on when we had to get up super early so mommy could teach a stretch class to all of the dog trainers that were in San Diego for the APDT dog trainers convention. The APDT (Association of Pet Dog Trainers) conference is in San Diego this weekend and they asked the So Cal Surf Dogs if they could come and demonstrate dog surfing at their welcome party at Mission Bay. Nobody else was available so Jack and I had the honor of doing the demo. I am thinking there would be a handful of people there, no big deal. I get there and they are busing people in–we had to do the demo for over 100 trainers from all over the world, some had never even heard of dog surfing! I wasn’t sure
Read more →This past weekend we celebrated a very special little guy’s birthday. Andiamo, aka Andy, is the first dog that has been coming to Leash Your Fitness classes since he was old enough to safely join us. He has come such a long way. His mommy, Cathy, takes him faithfully to the doggy drills classes every Tuesday and he has learned his basic commands, some agility and a few tricks. He is still our little digger and entertainer but we are very proud of Andy and we want to wish him a Happy Birthday. It will be fun watching him mature
Read more →Sancho came to visit us for a weekend from Sacramento. His daddy spent the weekend with friends at a wedding so Sancho got to hang with mommy and me. I guess he is my cousin, since he is mommy’s nephew’s dog. I don’t know how any of that stuff works, I just know–he was a really cool dog. He was rescued from the shelter after his first family had to give him up because they lost their house. It is amazing that he was still there after a month when his new daddy, John, saved him. Read more →Leash Your Fitness was one of the many vendors at the Bark For Life event in San Diego over the weekend. Bark For Life is a noncompetitive walk event for dogs and their owners to raise funds and awareness of the American Cancer Society’s fight against cancer. There were many dogs and their owners out to support the fight against cancer, because everyone knows someone who has had cancer. Leash Your Fitness led the warm up by doing some Dog Yoga and then the walkers were off on their short walk around the field. It was a fun-filled morning and
