Dog friendly road trip

We woke today to a very cloudy day.  We drove for 20 minutes in a rainstorm–daddy said he had never seen anything like it (he is from San Diego).  Mommy got some cool photos of the clouds!  We did get to stop for my daily swim, little walk on the rocky beach and we had a picnic.  It rained a little on us but I didn’t care cause I was already wet! Since it was such a poopy day we drove our longest day yet–521 miles.  Mommy sang to keep us entertained and I caught up on my sleep………

Mommy found this really cool lake in Nebraska so we hung out there all morning!  Mommy and I ran around the Ogallala lake, it was hot so she let me jump in to cool off a few times.  The water was a little gross though.  Daddy was fishing and painting.  After we ran–we decided to go across the street to the other lake, Lake McConaughy, it as REALLY big!  Mommy and I found this really cool sandy beach and went swimming.  The water was PERFECT!  We wanted to stay there all day but it got really windy so we left

We drove out of our way a long time today to see this amazing scenery at Independence Pass and Continental Divide and I got to play in the snow! It was so fun and so worth it! We even had a picnic at the lake. (of course I got to swim there!) Daddy and Bruce watched the tour and then we left and didn’t get to our hotel that night until 9:30 and mommy found this scary hotel and daddy said he was picking them from now on. Their dogs barked at me and scared me, then a big train

Today we slept in till 6:30 a.m. –probably cause we stayed up till midnight posting photos!  Mommy worked on my blog while daddy watched the tour with his friend Bruce.  They both used to race bikes so they were really into it.  We finally got moving around 10:30 and we went on a drive around Grand Mesa.  Guess what??? I got to go SWIMMING!!!  Mommy walked around the lake, I swam and daddy fished!  It was perfect!!  Especially the part where I rolled around in dead fish–TWICE!! I almost got away with rolling around in the cow poop but mommy caught me! 

DAY 3  We went camping with Uncle Pat and Aunt Deb in their fancy motor home.  I got to play with my cousins! We were out in the woods with nobody around–it was GREAT!!  We went on a 2 hour hike then mommy got to eat ice cream while sitting by the camp fire!  Her goal is to eat ice cream every day while she is away!
