Dog friendly roadtrip ends

Sacramento River

We are so sad that we are heading home after this incredible journey and a very dog friendly road trip!  It has been 2 weeks of swimming, hiking, relaxing and fighting for the front seat!  What a FUN adventure!   We still couldn’t believe our disappointment at Clear Lake!  They must change the name of that lake, if you missed that part of our journey, make sure you go back and read it so that it doesn’t happen to you too!  You can read it HERE!

Good thing I have such cool parents that spoil me and love water just as much as I do. Because they make special stops just so that I can swim.  The Sacramento river was warm and refreshing and the last stop before we headed to our final sleep destination which was a rest stop in the middle of nowhere! I do NOT recommend that you stay at a rest stop! It was VERY LOUD!

IMG_3260Mommy always jokes that she can find water anywhere! She proved herself on our way home! She found a lake out in the middle of NOWHERE! All that was around were farming fields.  After doing some research, it was the only one on our way home that didn’t have that darn blue green algae in it so once more–we took a little detour (I think they were just procrastinating because they didn’t want to go home yet!) and we went SWIMMING!

We found this lake called Buena Vista Aquatic Recreation Center not too far from I5. It was a few dollars to get it but it was early on a weekday morning so we had the entire lake to ourselves! Mommy and I had a blast swimming together!  It was a little muddy but it was warm and BIG!

I have to say, I did NOT want to leave that place.  It was so much fun! But we finally had to head home.

Just so you know, we stopped at Pyramid Lake on our way home.  Blue Green Algae and you had to pay $11. for us dogs to swim and there was no swimming on weekdays.

We want to THANK YOU for going on this journey with us.  It was a 2535 miles of FUN!  And I think this signIMG_3233 depicts my mommy because she took me to so many cool places!  (She made me say that!)  We hope that you continue to follow our blog because we will be going somewhere else fun soon!  Mommy sure does like to travel. In the meantime, you can read back through some of our other adventures HERE!  You know I have been in 21 states and have swam in all of them!

Thanks again! And feel free to SHARE with us in the comments where your favorite place to travel with your pup is, we may just go check it out!  I am going to rest up now because  I am excited to see my Leash Your Fitness family!
