Road Trip: Joshua Tree and Slab City

Our first few days in the desert were packed full of fun!  It was so much fun hiking on some new trails. You can read all about them HERE.  We woke up in the Ranger’s driveway and it was COLD!  As usual, I woke mommy up at 5:30 a.m. because I was hungry and had to pee.    It was only 39 degrees in the RV!   We had our breakfast and warmed up a little with our Mr. Buddy propane heater! So happy that we had that with us!  I went back to sleep after I ate! It was

We left the Mt Shasta area on Monday morning and headed south.  With a full tank of water and empty tanks we could camp anywhere we wanted so let the adventure begin!   We passed through the Whiskeytown area and headed to Lake Lewiston.  Mommy was determined to camp on a lake somewhere and there is no stopping her when her mind is made up and of course I wouldn’t mind camping on a lake!   You are not allowed to disperse camp at Whiskeytown and Trinity Lake was too low so we opted for Lake Lewiston. Instead we headed north.  First stop was the Visitor Center in Shasta City so we could see where we were going.  The nice lady gave us a map and told us where we could camp for free.  Anywhere along

Mommy and I were supposed to go to Idaho to join Daddy and his friends on their mountain bike adventure but it was too cold!! Mommy was afraid our pipes were going to freeze.  Plus, who wants to SUP when it is freezing outside?   So she had to come up with a plan B! As usual for mommy and her scientific ways of finding a great place to camp, she looked for green and blue on the map.  Somewhere that it would not be too hot like Utah or too cold like Idaho or Oregon.  We settled for the
