Baby Shower Bootcamp

We have had all sorts of specialty classes at Leash Your Fitness, everything from Doggy Easter Egg Hunts, to Birthday Parties, to Valentines Day Classes but the Baby Shower Bootcamp was a new one especially since Dawn “doesn’t do babies!”  haha This class was for a very special girl that has been coming to our classes on a regular basis for two years now.  The first day of class, she was MISERABLE!  She had bad knees, was over weight and very out of breath.  BUT…she stayed with it! She lost 25 lbs and went off all of her medications AND no longer had sore knees! Even being 8 months pregnant, she does not weigh what she weighed when she started our classes AND she is so much healthier and looks so much better! We are ALL very proud of Rachel! (see her testimonial here)

balloonsRachel is due in March and it is now February and although she is a little slower in class, she is still exercising so having a SURPRISE Baby Shower Bootcamp class was so much fun! Her husband and mom even came!  We started class with a Easter Egg Hunt. The eggs were filled with “boy” or “girl” sheets of paper. Everyone took their eggs back to their mats until after class. Next step…everyone know that the first thing that happens before a baby is born is the water breaks. So, everyone had a water balloon on a spoon and had to run with it and wait for the water to break! Because the class was so large, we had to break it up so the other people on the team were doing “push kicks” to PUSH that baby out!
After the baby is born, they crawl, walk, run, skip and jump so that was the next thing on our agenda. The dogs got to do the “crawling” through the tunnel and then the people went from cone to cone with the next form of locomotion ending with the dogs “jumping” over the jumps! The kid has to learn these basic movements right??

Rachel has been saying that she is “waddling” so we thought it only right that EVERYONE had to experience that. So with a tennis ball between their legs, everyone did a “waddle” relay carrying baby supplies for the hand off! Some people “waddled” better than others. Carol didn’t get the whole “waddle thing” as you will see in the photos!

After the kid learns how to move, they have to learn to listen so our last exercise was a “follow instructions” exercise! As we yelled out the number everyone had to do the corresponding exercise with that number! I have to say, we have some good listeners in our class!

We ended class with “Happy Baby Pose” as Bear has demonstrated (see photos)! And then Rachel got to open her gifts.  Everyone contributed for a $300. Babies R Us Gift Certificate because Baby Lucas is not going to want for ANYTHING! Of course the first outfit on Baby Lucas is going to be a workout Leash Your Fitness onsey because that kid is going to be FIT! Don’t worry, the pups got treats too! Aunt Cathy made yummy Doggy Pup Cakes with pink and blue icing. And you ask, what was the verdict on the Easter Eggs!? It is going to be a girl from our scientific approach! 13 girls, 11 boys AND Rachel had a girl in her Easter Egg!

It was such a fun morning and Rachel was very surprised! She is a very special member of our family and it sure was fun surprising her! She is the only one of her friends who had a Baby Shower Bootcamp with 27 dogs in attendance!

Enjoy the photos!
