Kayaking with 21 dogs

Jack’s Adventures continue with the Leash Your Fitness kayaking with your dog outing.  Jack had a great time on his journey around the country but the adventure must go on!!  A month after the Jack’s Journey USA ended, Jack will tell you about our outing with 21 dogs in kayaks!

Mommy always loses sleep over days like this but we had an outstanding and super fun group!

It all started on a beautiful Saturday morning in San Diego.  The group met at Aqua Adventures Kayak in Mission Bay.  Mommy has a system for getting everyone checked in and safely on the kayaks complete with life vests for everyone, dog and people! A few of the dogs even wore their board shorts!

We then all go out into the bay and do a little talk about paddling with your dog and the do’s and don’ts and where the adventure is going to take us.

We had a lot of big dogs that were new to kayaking on this event.  They did really well.  Baby went with my daddy and she seemed to just relax and enjoy the ride.

Toby came with us and he wanted to jump and swim the entire time.  He held his composure until the very end when he just couldn’t take it any more and jumped out by the dock.  I have to give him a lot of credit, he had to listen to me whine the entire time because I wanted to swim!  No wonder he jumped in!

We got to Fiesta Island and everyone had a great time romping on the beach!

A few of our friends brought their ISLE SUP‘s over so some of the gals could try them.  That was an added treat!

We switched a few people around on the way back to make the paddle more enjoyable for everyone and we were off to paddle against the wind!

Upon our arrival at the dock, Lilly decided to jump in.  Her mommy panicked and instead of just using the handy handle on the top of the dog life jacket, she jumped in after her.  Lucky for them that the water was warm and nobody got hurt! It is always an adventure around here and that is why we have so much fun!

After the paddle, all of the paddlers enjoyed a yummy lunch at The Landing.  Lots of laughs about the day and a lunch that was well deserved while us dogs rested in the shade!
