Today Leash Your Fitness took 17 people and 20 dogs kayaking with us, well really 21 people counting us and our helpers. This was a rather small group because we usually have over 20 dogs but mommy has learned to keep the group a little smaller because we can get to Fiesta Island quicker. Well, most of the time! Today was a crazy day on the water! On the way to the island, we had a tandem that was zig zagging the whole way to the island BUT they finally made it. A little frustrated but happy to join us and their dogs were happy to get out and run and swim! We had a GREAT time on Fiesta Island! Us dogs are out of control having the time of our lives! Meeko, the Boxer forgets that he isn’t a small dog but he likes to play with the small dogs like they are his size! Lucky for us, that the small dogs were mostly terriers like me that can hold our own! It is kind of funny watching the little girls set Meeko in his place!
Speaking of Meeko, as we were ready to leave, he was just warming up! Rosa his mommy got him in the kayak but he wouldn’t sit down so over they went, as in CAPSIZE! (phone and all!) Lucky for us that it was close to shore so we got them back in the kayak. Meeko knew he was in trouble so he was a good boy (for awhile)! We caught up with the group to find Annabelle, who drove the whole way down from Santa Monica to kayak with us, going around in circles! My Aunty Stevanne was helping her but her kayak was not cooperating because it was too big for her so me and mommy got in her tandem kayak with her and Aunty Stevann towed the empty one. We caught up with Rosa and Meeko decided he was good for long enough so he wouldn’t sit down again. So…after we pulled over and crawled up the rocks so I could take a potty break (whoops! forgot to take one before I left the island) we towed Rosa and Meeko back to the dock! So yes, Stevann was towing an empty kayak and we were towing a full one! Never a dull moment but that is why we call it an ADVENTURE!
We are so proud of everyone for hanging in there! This is why we go as a group so we can help you! You may not need any help and you will get better with each time coming but we are here for you if you do! We don’t leave anyone behind!

It was a beautiful day on the water and the day ended with a yummy lunch at The Landing! Mommy said the fish taco’s tasted so good after our eventful day on the water!
A special thanks to Aunt Bobbi & Uncle Terry and Aunty Stevanne for their help on the water. And Aunty Kelley for her help on the island! We couldn’t do it without our helpers!
Check out our photos (put your cursor over the photos for descriptions) and feel free to come and join one of our adventures soon! You will have a great story for work on Monday! Don’t delay because our kayak events sell out FAST! Here is a link to our EVENTS page.
