Idyllwild Adventure

WoW!!  We had so much fun in Idyllwild, I am so lucky that mommy and daddy take me on so many fun adventures!dawnjackrockWEB  This was a scouting trip for our Leash Your Fitness Camping trip so we were “working!” (lucky for me that mommy’s work is FUN!)  We stayed in the cutest cabin, it was one of the best cabins that we have ever stayed in! It was called the “Little Red Cabin” and it had a BIG doggy door and a hammock and a fenced back yard and a fireplace and all kinds of cool stuff! We didn’t get to spend too much time there because we were busy!  We did a little hike behind Idyllwild Campground on Friday and we were greeted by a very large coyote.  I do NOT like coyotes so mommy made sure that I was on a leash or I just might tell him what I think of him and mommy doesn’t like it when I do that!  On Saturday we did a loonnnggggg 13 mile hike.  We started at South Ridge and hiked up to the lookout tower.  I thought we were going to turn around and go back but NOOO, mommy and daddy decided to make it an all day hike! I didn’t mind because guess what? I got to play in the snow! Check out the video HERE! (I know that I shouldn’t play with rocks, my doctor told me that it is not good for my teeth!)  So we hiked to the saddle and then down Devils Slide and across Ernie Maxwell. Mommy included the photos below so make sure you check them out because it sure was pretty! If you take your pup to Idyllwild to hike make sure you check out the trail rules because dogs are not allowed on many of the trails and you have to have a hike permit to hike.

We had a relaxing evening enjoying the fire and then Sunday we went out again.  It wouldn’t be a hiking weekend if we didn’t find some sort of water so that is what we did!! I got to swim in Strawberry Creek. It wasn’t very deep but I am not very big so it worked! It was just a short hike before we went home but I didn’t care because we found this cool stick tunnel, some awesome views of the mountains that we climbed on Saturday and then I got to swim!! SCORE!

We hope that you go on fun road trips with your pup too, feel free to share with us where you like to go!  Thanks for reading and enjoy the photos…….
