It is always sad for mommy to leave her family. We had such a fun time in Lake Chautauqua with my cousin and aunt. The weather was great to get out on the lake so if you missed that post, make sure you check it out.
We are now on our way to my 32nd state, Michigan. I have swam in all of them and plan on swimming here too! Mommy decided to forgo the tolls and take the more scenic route on Rt 2. It was pretty, we passed lots of water and even passed Cedar Point Amusement Park. Mommy used to go there as a kid.
We arrived at Indian Valley Campground in Grand Rapids 9 hours later. We had stopped to load up on groceries and found a Costco to get some gas. If you are traveling, we advise you to get the Costco APP on your phone. We usually save about 20 cents a gallon and that adds up when you have a gas-guzzler like us!
Indian Valley Campground is south of Grand Rapids and our site (8R) was on the river so it didn’t take me long to be out of the RV and swimming! Our new neighbor, Erica, was very well versed in dogs. She had lots of stories for us about her rescues. The one that she currently had was a pug/ Lhaspsa mix. A crazy looking dog!
It was really fun talking to her. Her boyfriend had a husky that pulls him on his mountain skateboard. You can watch that short video HERE! It is so fun to meet cool people everywhere we go!
The next morning we went to Knox Park near Allegro Coaching in Grand Rapids to teach our Doggy Fitness Class. It was a fundraiser for the Bissell Foundation. They raise money to help shelters around the country! How cool is that? We helped raise $350. In our Leash Your Fitness class. We are so happy that it goes to dogs in need!
Again, it was threatening rain but the weather Gods held out and we had perfect weather! The class was our largest yet! We had every size dog, even an English Bulldog named Brutus! We offer something for everyone!
Mommy went over a bunch of drills, we did a little agility and ended with Dog Yoga. The 1 ½ flew by and the dogs were all good and tired at the end! That is our goal because a tired dog is a happy dog! Check out the photos HERE!
After class, the sun came out and ended up being a beautiful day! We explored a little of the shore of Lake Michigan. It was beautiful. We found an empty beach that went on for miles. We then went into Holland, cute little town.
What we really wanted to do was inflate the SUP and go swimming so we headed back to camp! Mommy and I paddled a few miles on the river. It was a little muddy but it felt good and once again, we had the entire thing to ourselves!
When we got back to camp, we inspired all of our new friends to try it. A few of them didn’t think that they could do it but what do you have to lose? They all did GREAT and one gal loved it so much, she went to our blog and bought one for her mom and dad with the $75. Discount using “leash75”.
It was super fun to inspire people all day long! First we showed the class fun things that they can add into their dog’s daily routine to help make for a better behaved dog. Then we introduced a new activity for our friends at camp. Many of them live near beautiful lakes and now they feel confident that they can SUP!
The next day we woke to POURING rain that continued all morning long. What a mess our camp was plus we had a leak in Spirit so mommy spent the morning cleaning and working before we head out to our next stop. We are heading north to Traverse City, MI where we hear it is super beautiful!! Stay tuned…..
