Doggy Easter Egg Hunt

Have you ever been to a Doggy Easter Egg Hunt?  What is it anyhow?  My mommy has been doing it since the first year of Leash Your Fitness.  She puts dog treats in all of the eggs and us dogs with the help of our humans, get to go look for them.  The first year, she thought that smearing the eggs with peanut butter would help but as you can imagine, that was a MESS!  So like everything else she does with Leash Your Fitness, she learned from her mistake and didn’t do that again!

Now she just stuffs the eggs with dog treats, the people never seem to want any treats so us dogs make out! Every year she has one “special” egg that she puts cash into and that mommy can use it to buy more treats for her pup, because it is all about us dogs!  I am mommy’s helper when she is getting everything ready for class…..

Mommy also has prizes for everyone.  She gives a prize for the most Easter Eggs found, the best costume and she has prizes for the games that we play in class.

Missy found the most eggs this year! She found 23 eggs!  That is a lot of treats for her little belly!

Miss Bobbi and Lucy won for the best costume! They even wore their costumes in class so they got extra points for that!

We played fun games in class too.  One of them was Musical Mats.  Mommy played music and when she stopped, everyone had to go find a mat, do a plank and the dog had to be in a down.  Of course there wasn’t enough mats for everyone so those dogs got to go play on the agility equipment while we finished the game!  Even though Gracie wasn’t in a down, she still won the prize as the last one standing!

Mommy made yummy people treats for everyone and us dogs got to enjoy Marcy’s birthday cake with her that her mommy made from scratch!
