One of the most well attended class is our Dog Yoga class. It attracts people of all fitness levels and even people that don’t normally do yoga. Here at Leash Your Fitness, we use the class as a way to fund raise for Foster and Shelter Groups in San Diego. It has brought in thousands of dollars to help dogs in need while the people have a great time and get to bond with their dog.
We first learned about Dog Yoga back in 2008 before we began Leash Your Fitness. We attended a class taught by Stacy McCarthy the International Yoga Guru and we noticed all of the different fitness levels and dogs in the class. When we started Leash Your Fitness in 2009, we began to incorporate these sort of classes into our company immediately.
Through the years have learned what works and what doesn’t in keeping all of the dogs calm and relaxed while their parent gets a good stretch! There is definitely a structure that works with “most” dogs and all of the people. We have had puppies in class as well as Border Collies, if you know what I mean!
Even if you are not a yoga or fitness instructor, there are ways for you to host this class. It is a GREAT way to partner with other businesses in order to gain a larger reach in your business. You will not only get new clients, but you will get FREE media attention as well because the media loves these classes! BUT the last thing that you want is a class full of chaos, and we have seen it and it doesn’t give Dog Yoga a good name so please watch THIS VIDEO and learn how to do it correctly so you will be the GO TO person in your area!
If you are interested in learning more, please check out THIS VIDEO that we made and ask any questions that you have regarding incorporating Dog Yoga classes into your business. We have partnered up with Stacy McCarthy and Jt Clough, a dog trainer. Between a Personal Trainer, Yoga Instructor and Dog Trainer, we can help anyone get these classes going in their business!
AND….
We are excited to help you!
Namaste!
