Thanks for following us on our journey across America! We had a BLAST at the Crooked River Campground. It just goes to show that traveling spontaneous is sometimes the best way to go. Checkout how cool that campground was. One of our favorites so far!
The drive to the White Mountains was short from the Crooked River Campground. We stopped at the Ranger Station on the Kancamagus Highway (Rt 112) and asked the ranger where we should hike. It was already 2:00 p.m. and a cloudy day with threatening rain. He suggested the Champney Falls hike and mommy heard waterfalls so we were all over it! She loves waterfalls! We stopped at a few view spots along the way and then headed up the trail.

The trail was super pretty, along a stream most of the way. We were so excited when we got to the first waterfall and then we kept going and they kept getting better! We even hiked up the stream so we could get to the quicker. The water was so cold; I was confused whether I should go in or not.

We hung out at the waterfall long enough for the view to clear and we got good photos of the mountains. Not sure which one it was but it looked pretty!

After our short hike, we drove up the road and stopped at a few more stops along the way. We saw another waterfall called Sabbaday Falls. The fog occluded the views and that was a bummer so we missed a lot of the beautiful scenery. We were going to spend the night in the campground there but since it was kind of rainy and we couldn’t see anything we decided to keep driving, plus it will make the drive shorter tomorrow.

We ended up staying the night in the back lot of a gas station along the road. It was weird, we pulled around the back (after asking the worker if we could sleep there) and there was a perfect pullout for us. It was like it was put there just for Spirit!

We are about to do a little backtracking now on our journey……
Since it is kind of on our way to Michigan, we are going back to teach another class for Studio 8 Fitness in New York with our friend Kelli and then head to Chautauqua to visit my Aunt Lynn again. This time her boat is ready for us!
The drive to our friend Kelli’s was a pretty drive. We took the country roads through the little New Hampshire and Vermont towns. We stopped near a lake so that I could get a swim in and mommy could catch up on her journaling. Plus, we need a break after driving for a few hours.

We got to Kelli’s house and it was raining but we didn’t care. We had another doggy fitness class there in New Hartford, NY with her friends from Studio 8 fitness in the rain! Kelli’s clients are the nicest people EVER and we really appreciate them coming out to see us again!

We just camped out at Kelli’s in her driveway so we could get up early and head to my Aunt Lynn’s house to go out on her boat in Lake Chautauqua. We cranked out the 4 hour drive on the boring freeway. It is more expensive that way because we had to pay over $20. In tolls but we were on a mission to get there quick!
We arrived at Aunt Lynn’s at 10 a.m. and she was ready to take us out in the boat! We had so much fun cruising on her pontoon boat in Lake Chautauqua. I got to “boat dive” and swim all day long!

I even got to ride on the jet ski! How many dogs can say that they did that! That is what Jacks Journey USA is all about, trying new things and inspiring others to do new activities with their dog!

The next morning, the lake was super calm so we all went SUPing. The last time that we were here a few weeks ago, my Aunt tried mommy’s Isle SUP and loved it so she ordered one. Now it was perfect! We all got to go together and we paddled down to the Chautauqua Bell Tower.

The day turned out to be beautiful so we spent the entire day on the lake. I got to swim and swim and swim! We went on a little tour of Chautauqua. The buildings there are so old and BIG! We even got to see some Amish people and their horse and buggies.

I was so tired on the boat ride home that I fell asleep in my cousin Laura’s arms.

I am going to be so sad to leave here tomorrow but I am going to be so tired that I will sleep on the entire ride to Michigan. We are excited to visit a new state so I will need to rest up! Michigan will be my 32nd state and the 10th new one on this journey.
