5 years of FUN with FIDO!

Wow!! It sure has been an AMAZING journey!  Five years ago, mommy started a business that nobody else was doing! She had no idea what she was doing but knew that something had to be done about people not wanting to leave their furry kids at home while they worked out so she set out to find a way for it to happen!!

It all started with one class on Sundays at Markim Pet Resort! Nobody else wanted any part of this endeavor but Mark, the owner at Markim said, “Sure! Let’s see how it goes!” Mommy was so happy!! His trainer at the time, Salem was on board and helped out with the dog training and telling his clients about our class! It was so fun!

Then she set out to find some people to support her idea, again everyone looked at her like she was crazy, including Tori at Dexter’s Deli but Tori was so nice and gave her a bunch of treats and gift certificates to lure people to class!  It worked and we got a few people to come!  It sure was slow going! Mommy got all of  our neighbors to come to class to “fill up class” and she told EVERYONE about it and we went EVERYWHERE!! Man, we were at every Yappy Hour and dog event in San Diego that first year!  It was very busy especially since mommy still had 3 other jobs AND she was finishing her Bachelors degree in Kinesiology! But it was fun and we sure did meet a lot of nice people and their pups!  Loree at the Original Paw Pleasers and Tess at Peticures by Tess sure were AWESOME!! They helped us get the word out and we started having Dog Yoga classes there! Loree even made us pups doggie ice cream!!

It has been  a long journey with different instructors and tons of different class locations including East and North County and Coronado! We have been everywhere!

Five years later we now do hikes, kayaking, camping, dog yoga, surfing, social and educational events, online fitness challenges and 4 different class types! Mommy now even helps other instructors start doggy bootcamp classes in their cities!

What a whirlwind it has been! We have met SOOOO MANY cool people that have one thing in common–a love for their dogs! It has been an amazing 5 years and I sure have had a lot of exercise along the way! I can only imagine what the next 5 years will bring! Mommy always seems to have something up her sleeve, I just hope it doesn’t have to do with me dressing up in a silly costume!

Mommy and I want to THANK EVERYONE that has supported Leash Your Fitness and stuck by us with our constant growing pains! We sure do love our Leash Your Fitness family!
