Road Trip: Idyllwild Snow

So many of you know that it is my birthday month and mommy promised me that we would go somewhere fun.  She got the RV all ready to go to Arizona so that we could spend the week SUPing but to our surprise, the weather was supposed to be crappy!  I did get to SUP the week of my actual birthday so that was fun but we didn’t want to go camping in cold and rainy weather.

So guess what we did?  We did something that we haven’t done since we got our RV. We headed to Idyllwild and we rented a cabin!  It was so fun and really nice!  It said that it wasn’t dog friendly but they made an exception for me because I promised that I wouldn’t shed or make a mess.  It was so perfect for us!  Especially after the snow fell!

The last time we came here it was a month after my brain tumor diagnosis and we stayed in the camp ground.  Mommy was so sad because I was so tired with no enthusiasm because of the drugs that I was on.  You can read about that trip HERE.  We still had fun and hiked some new terrain.

This time was totally different.  We got a little hike in as soon as we arrived…..

The first night it snowed and snowed and snowed….  We woke up to tons of snow on the ground!  I was so excited!

We played in the front yard…

And we took a walk down the road in the snow….

We were covered in snow! It was so cool…..

We even met this crazy guy that was out shoveling the snow in shorts!  I don’t think men in California own pants!

It was such a fun day and we got our fill of snow!  It snowed 8″ and it was so pretty!  We didn’t even move the car all day…

The next day, we took advantage of the clear roads and we went to Lake Fulmor.  It was super pretty.

We walked around the entire lake and I really wanted to go swimming but mommy wouldn’t allow me to….

I didn’t care because we had fun playing in the snow and mommy even made a snowman. ( don’t tell mommy but her snowman was pretty lame and not near as good as the ones that daddy makes! )

Mommy and I had so much fun and we stopped to play a lot.  It all started like this….

then turned into this…

I love spending the day with mommy!

After the lake we found some trails that were deserted so we ventured off to the wilderness…

It was really pretty…..( and yes, I got treats for this one! )

Man! After all of that playing in the snow, I was so tired….

I will never forget all of the fun that we had in the snow. Idyllwild is only 2 hours from our house and it is awesome!  I may be 13 now but I was acting like a puppy in the snow.  You can watch the video HERE!

The next day, we were both sad to leave.  We took one last hike near the Nature Center. There are tons of trails there.  Then we went into town for lunch and to wander around town for a bit which is so boring to me but its part of the deal and I have to admit, this statue was pretty cool…

We said our Good-byes to Idyllwild and the snow and headed home…

Thanks for enjoying the adventure with us!  If you ever go to Idyllwild with your pup, there are lots of places to stay including the Idyllwild Inn, they have rooms or cool cabins or my friend found a place on Home Away that she likes.  Look around, you will find something and it is totally worth it! There is always the campgrounds too!  That is where we usually stay!
