We feel blessed

October 9th, 2016.  It began as a normal Sunday and mommy thought it ended normal too but then daddy woke her up screaming that “Jack is having a seizure”!  What?   That can’t be right?  I was acting normal and living life to the fullest.

There started the ball rolling on MRI’s, CT’s, Cyberknife therapy, drugs and a year of recovery from my diagnosis of a brain tumor.

Mommy has always been one to live life to the fullest, especially after my Grandma died.  She even bought a RV and we have traveled the country during Jack’s Journey USA.  Since my diagnosis a year ago, we have been to Idylwild, Palm Desert & Joshua Tree, Arizona, and our recent journey in the Pacific Northwest and Canada.

We even celebrated my 12th birthday with a epic hike to Three Sisters Waterfall!

It has now been a whole year since my diagnosis and I can’t say that I am the same as 2 years ago.  I am a little slower.  Sometimes I can be a little spacey.  My paws hurt me.  BUT I am still alive and having fun.   We are only looking ahead to what we CAN DO!

I suffer from arthritis in my paws so I take supplements like 1-TDC, turmeric paste and Pet Releaf CBD oil to help with that and I wear booties to soften the impact on my feet.  And since I am small, mommy carries me when she thinks the trails will hurt my feet.  Bonus for her:  she gets an upper body workout!

I eat really healthy, except when I eat anything that I can find on the ground!  I don’t like to see food going to waste! Mommy has me on Soul’y Raw food, Fish oil, Mushrooms and she makes roasted vegetables for me.

She also diffuses Young Living essential oils every night.  Something called Frankincense.  It helps my brain.  And lavender helps us to get a good nights rest.  If you are interested, she can help you cause she loves the oils!

And I do a lot of swimming!  It is the best exercise for me and I love, love, love it!

It has been an interesting year but I feel very blessed that I still get to enjoy life.  A few of my friends have passed over the rainbow bridge that also had the dreaded “C” word and I feel sad for their families.  Our lives are just too darn short as it is and it is a real bummer when they are made even shorter by bad stuff happening to us.

That is why we ask that you hug your dog extra hard today and remember to ENJOY every day with not only your dog but your friends and loved ones.  Life is meant to have fun!

Thanks so much for reading my blog.  We hope that you and your dog stay healthy and having fun!
