Mommy and I are on the road again. This time for 6 weeks! We are heading to the Pacific Northwest. We didn’t know that we knew so many people up there! We are going to be doing a lot of Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUPing), swimming, a little hiking and teaching some classes along the way. That is the plan anyhow! If you want to see our class schedule, go HERE.

We left San Diego at 8:15 p.m. on Monday, August 14th and as usual, we drove through LA at night and stayed the night in Lebec. This time behind the Arco gas station, mommy didn’t go to her secret spot cause it was too lit up. It was actually pretty quiet behind Arco. We got on the road at 6:15 a.m. for Lake Shasta so I could go SWIMMING!
Our adventures in Spirit began in Hirz Bay exactly 3 years ago so it holds a special place in mommy’s heart plus she has a good story about the place and how we ended up there, have her tell it to you sometime! We drove most of the day and arrived a little after 2 p.m. and got site #27. I was so excited to go swimming! The water was a little higher than it was in 2014! Check it out!

We went swimming as soon as we got there. Mommy found a great spot with a trail straight to the lake. The ground is red so the water is a little red in the beginning but then it gets super clear. I didn’t care. It was so warm!

We hung out on the beach a while and mommy got to read a few chapters of her book but then we had to go pay for the site. We took a walk through the park and there is a trail down to the water so we went on a little hike. Mommy was in her bathing suit and flip flops!

It was really windy when we arrived but the wind died down so we decided to take the SUP out for a little bit. We had the entire lake to ourselves. It was so peaceful.

We were doing our own sunset cruise….

It was a GREAT first day of vacation. Mommy knows how to make me a happy boy!
The next morning, we got up and took off for Bend, Oregon. We stopped in Weed, CA so mommy could post a blog about the upcoming classes and get a coffee. It was a little hazy but can you see Mt Shasta?

We look forward to spending a few days in Bend. We have a friend there too! Stay tuned to see what we are up to there! You know it will be fun!
Thanks for reading! You can continue to follow our journey HERE!
