Today was the first morning since we left that I let mommy sleep in! We got up at 7:30 a.m. and went to breakfast with Uncle Randy and his daughters. Well, mommy did, I had to wait in Spirit. It was really sad for mommy to leave her family. She cried for a long time on the drive. It makes her sad that she doesn’t get to see them very often. We had a really good time with them in Pennsylvania and are happy that we get to see our Aunty Lynn one more time before we move on.
The drive to Lynn’s house on Chautauqua Lake was pretty easy. Mommy thought a lot about her stay in West Newton and how my Grand Parents were smiling down on the family. That was really cool! If you didn’t see it, you can read about it HERE.
The best part about my Aunt’s house is the dock! I showed off my dock diving ability for all of the neighbors. I didn’t care that the water was cold! I love to swim in all water no matter what!
I slept really good that night, I think it was the cold weather and all of the fun activities that we have been doing.
The next day it was freezing! Mommy said it was 31 degrees, whatever that means! No SUPing for us! We went for a long walk around the neighborhood and met the nice neighbors and then we walked around Chautauqua Institute. The season there wasn’t open yet so we practically had the place to ourselves! It is a cool place. It was founded in 1874 and is 750 acre not-for-profit educational center. There sure were some old houses there! They even have the oldest book club in the entire country there in a really big house!
Since it was too windy to SUP, we decided to go check out a hike at the Chautauqua Gorge State Park. We had a hard time finding it but once we did, it was super fun because I got to swim! There were a bunch of people camping and singing songs and everyone was so happy! It is Memorial Day weekend so there was an extra amount of people out enjoying the great outdoors! We love that! It was cool that we got to show Aunt Lynn a new place to go. Now sheknows about this trail and can bring others here! That is what our journey is all about, introducing people to new things to do outside!
The best part for mommy, besides spending more time with her family, is all of the games that they play. Mommy loves playing games. They played Yahtzee the first night and Skat the second night. We also got to visit with more of Uncle Jack’s family that was visiting from Florida! We fit a lot in during our short stay!
The stay would not have been complete without teaching Aunty Lynn to SUP so when we woke up on Sunday and it was sunny and warm, we inflated the ISLE SUP and walked to the nearest dock! Aunty Lynn was a natural and she loved it. I even took a ride with her! While mommy and I paddled across the lake, Aunty Lynn went in the house and ordered a SUP just like ours! What a fun morning! Once again we were sad to leave! Seems to be a trend that everywhere that we go we hate to leave. We must move on to our friend Kelli’s house because she is going to host one of our Leash Your Fitness classes! We can’t wait to say that we taught a class in Rome! Check out our next stop!
