Nothing more important than family

We arrived safely in West Newton, PA and have now traveled 3326 miles and spent over $1100. on gas but that is ok because we are having so much fun. We are 3 weeks in to our trip and it has been like heaven!

Seeing our family is always a treat. Mommy has a very colorful family and there is never a dull moment! My uncle Randy used to raise Cattle but now he raises Bison.   I got to follow the pregnant kitty around and sit and watch the Bison, they were kind of scary looking! The pool wasn’t open yet but good thing for me that the neighbor’s pool was open and I got to swim in it or else I would have had swimming withdrawals!

We got to visit a place called Critter Country.  Mommy and her friends got to see Zebra’s, Camels, Bears, Wolves, Tigers, Pigs, Lemurs and all kinds of big animals. The owner, her friend Laurie, was even playing with a 4 month old Leopard! Watch the video HERE. The girls had fun while I sat and waited in Spirit. Mommy got to hold Charlie the chicken. I am happy that Charlie didn’t come with us!

Critter Country saves animals from zoo’s that are going out of business and other places where the animals are not treated well. They rely solely on donations and people like us paying to visit. The animals are well treated and loved. Most of them roam freely in large fields. The girls got to feed a lot of them, mommy’s favorite was the pig named Scooter and the furry chickens were pretty cool. The lemurs were fun to watch and there was a little baby riding on her mommy’s back!

After our visit to Critter Country, it was time for our class with all of mommy’s friends that she grew up with. They have been curious as to what this Leash Your Fitness business is all about so we showed them how it is done! Mommy was a little concerned because none of the dogs had any training and some had never even been on a leash! Good thing we have a lot of experience so we knew what to do!

WN class

The class went well and everyone had a great time. We played games, did drills and tired out the dogs and the people! We didn’t have any dogfights and only 2 dogs slipped their collars and ran but we got them back in class in no time! It was fun watching everyone bond with his or her dog.

We hope that we taught them a few things that they can do with their pups. We like to educate people that your dogs WANT to learn new things. They want to think and have a job to do. If your dog is barking, chewing, and acting out, it is usually because he/she is bored and needs some mental stimulation. Just teaching them basic dog obedience and maybe even a few tricks will really help! They didn’t think that their dogs knew how to do basic obedience but we showed them that they really do!

By the end of class, the dogs and the people were pooped! It was so fun to see everyone and their pups. We had every kind of dog from a little Maltese to a big Bernese mountain dog!  Check out the photos HERE!

The best part of the class is when we got a sign that my grand parents were watching down on us. It has been 2 ½ years since mommy has been home and the last time is when my Grandma suddenly passed away. Grandma was happy that mommy was back with her family and she showed us in a very special way. In the middle of class she smiled down on us in the form of an upside down rainbow…….

We had such a good time in PA. Everyone loved seeing Spirit all decorated for our Jack’s Journey USA tour. But the main thing was just feeling loved and missed. Family is important and whether you love your family or just tolerate them, they are a part of who you are. We think that they are a very important part of our life and we are sad that they live so far away.

When is the last time you told someone in your family that you loved and appreciated them? Maybe today would be a good day to give someone a call! Maybe you could even schedule a time to meet with a family member that you haven’t seen for a while and give them a big hug and let them know how much you love them! Life is short; don’t put it off any longer because you never know when someone won’t be there anymore!

We are off to see my Aunt Lynn’s house in Chautauqua. I am excited because I am going to get to dock dive and SUP again!

Stay tuned and keep following along here!  You don’t want to miss out on the fun!
