Did you know that mommy used to live in Maryland? She went to x-ray school here 24 years ago! It was fun for her to be back in her old stomping grounds. We drove up from Hungry Mother State Park, Virginia at night to miss the DC traffic and arrived at Sport Fit Fitness Club at midnight and spent the night in their parking lot. We got to visit with her friend, Pete, in the morning. It was fun to see him. Pete traveled part of the way to California with her when she moved there 20 years ago! After our visit with Pete, we were off to see our other friend Kelly in Annapolis!
Kelly and her dog, Scooter, used to teach our Leash Your Fitness classes in San Diego until they moved to Annapolis in 2014. It was so fun to see my friend, Scooter again!
We hung out with them all weekend at their house. They live walking distance from downtown Annapolis so we spent a lot of time walking. It is really pretty there and lots and lot of water to swim in! The walking around town part wasn’t that fun for me but mommy liked the crab cakes, the little stores and the ice cream! Don’t tell anyone but she had ice cream 2 times while we were there! All I wanted to do is go in all of the water that was everywhere!
Good thing for us that Kelly and her family like to SUP so we all went SUPing! It was so fun seeing all of the big houses on the water. Scooter and I love to SUP but Scooter doesn’t like to swim and that was ok until he fell in. Good thing he had his life jacket on so it was easy to get him back on the board. Saturday was hiking day! We went to a place called Quiet Waters Park. Kelly is pregnant so we didn’t want to do anything too crazy. It was a nice walk through the trees and I got to go swimming so I was happy!
I have been a tick magnet on this trip so mommy was trying to find something natural for me since I am already on Revolution and it doesn’t seem to be working! We stopped at Pet Barn and she got special shampoo and Tickz herbal powder to put in my food that is supposed to help so hopefully between the 3 things, those darn ticks will leave me alone!
The worst part of the day was getting the bath with the new shampoo. Mommy wanted me to look nice since we were going out for dinner with our friend Doug from Baltimore. We found a place with yummy food and an awning called Federal House. The reason I mentioned the awning is because it started pouring down rain so we were stuck there for a bit until it slowed down. It was fun watching the rain and the people run through it!
The next day we got up early to get ready for our fitness class at Dog Wood Acres Pet Resort. Man! If you live in Annapolis or anywhere near it, you need to have your pup stay at this place! It is NICE! Plus it has a bone shaped swimming pool! They also have an inside training room which was a good thing because it was raining a little. They have a bunch of outside training yards so we set up in two of them for the class.
The dogs were so good in class! Mommy had them doing drills, going over jumps and of course working on their basic commands. The rain held out for class but it was a little humid so we still went inside. By the time we got to the inside part of the class, all of the dogs were pooped! The inside felt good with the air conditioning! The dogs got to play puppy pushups and they enjoyed their parents company and entertained everyone. That is the fun part about working out with your dog. It is very entertaining! The parents got to do Dog Yoga and work on some balance drills. Mommy likes to teach people things that they can do on their dog walks. You can see the class photos HERE!
The class was super fun and everyone left with a goody bag filled with Dog Treats, a Kurgo collapsible dog bowl, a Kind bar a pack of Sun Road Protein and lots of other fun stuff from Dog Wood Acres. Four lucky people won the drawings.
Of course I was sad to leave because of the pool but it was time to head north to see our family. Mommy is from Pennsylvania and her family was waiting for us and we were excited to see them! Stay tuned for our next post about our week with the Bison, kitties and all of our crazy family!
