SUP in San Diego

Have you ever returned from vacation and had a hard time getting back in the swing of things?  Mommy & I have especially after our 10 1/2 week adventure journey all over America!  Jacks Journey USA kept us active and having fun every day! Even the days that we drove, when we arrived at our destination we did SOMETHING fun!

Returning home and jumping back into the swing of every day life is a little depressing.  Don’t get me wrong, we understand that we could be returning to much worse locations than San Diego but you know what I mean.  Mommy went back to work and left me all alone and I was bored.  Even though I have an entire basket of toys, a bully stick and treats, I tore up mommy shirt just to show her that I wan’t digging this new way of doing things!

So we decided we are going to keep the adventure rolling with the “Adventures of Jack”.  Once a week we will do something fun and share it with you.  Maybe we will inspire you and give you new ideas to do “something that scares you” and raises your adrenaline and gets you out of the ho hum of every day life!

Today’s adventure was Stand Up Paddle Boarding (SUPing) in the ocean!

We have SUP’d all over the country in lakes and rivers and in the bay in San Diego but today is the first time that we ventured out into the ocean!

We started at the Hyatt on the bay and paddled out past the jetty.  The current was strong so mommy had to keep paddling or we would drift back to where we started!  As we got closer to the ocean, big boats were making big waves for us to paddle over too!

We got out into the ocean and I got a little nervous because it was really wavy so mommy  sat down on the board with me.  I realized that mommy had things under control so I  calmed down and then we headed across OB dog beach to the OB pier.  Mommy  heard the life guard yelling something over the load speaker about the pier so we didn’t get too close.

It was kind of fun riding the waves!  Much better than staying home while mommy works!

Mommy let me off to swim a few times and then we headed over to Pacific Beach on the bay side so I could run around on the beach & dig in the sand!

After all of that, mommy worked up an appetite so she took me to the Landing Grill for lunch.  It is a pretty place to hang out for lunch!

While we were there, two little birds fell out of the tree.  They sure were cute.  There was a nice man there taking care of them.

It was a fun day, just what we needed!

San Diego sure is pretty and we feel blessed that we live here. Thanks for following us! Stay tuned for more of my adventures!  You know that we don’t like to get bored!

Don’t forget to follow us on Facebook and Instagram too!
