A few weeks ago our Move It Monday was step downs, now it is time to step up!!
Step ups are a great butt exercise plus they will help your balance and cardio!
You can do these on any bench, or secure raised surface. Sometimes you can find steps in a playground or use a picnic table bench.
- Make sure the bench is not too much above knee height, lower is better.
- Stand facing the bench.
- Step up on the bench with one foot, placing the entire foot on the bench and your weight in the heel.

- Use that leg to “pull” you up on to the bench so that both legs are on the bench.

- Step down with the other leg.
- Repeat 10 – 15 times and then switch legs.
This is a great time to work on your dogs obedience. Put him/ her in a sit stay on the ground next to you.
Try not to get in the habit of allowing your dog to jump up on the table. Remember, your dog does not know the difference between an empty table and one filled with food.
Have fun! Remember your butt is part of your core so the stronger that it is, the less you will have lower back, knee and other ailments!
