Issaquah and Lake Kachess

As always we were sad to leave Gig Harbor. It was REALLY beautiful there and we had a great time.   We headed East to Issaquah, WA to teach a dog fitness class with Riverdog Canine Coaching.

We spent the night in their parking lot where we got to visit with our friend Janey who moved to Seattle a few months ago.  The next day, we got to visit with my cousin Meaghan and her family before class.  It is so fun to see our friends during our travels.

Then it was time to teach and mommy had her hands full with 30 dogs!  It was a super fun class.  They did run drills in the HUGE field across the street from Riverdog.

Then they stopped a few times and had their dog sit while they did leg work…

Then they took a shade break and did some core work….

And then they had a blast doing the jumps….

It was such a fun class and everyone was entered into a raffle to win cool prizes from KIND, Kurgo and Buckley Dog Treats.

It was a HUGE class but the dogs AND the dog parents did great and we wanted to THANK everyone for coming!  You can see more photos HERE.

That evening we went to Snoqualmie Falls.  Mommy hadn’t been there in 20 years!  It was really pretty but kind of pointless to have all of that water and I couldn’t even go swimming!!

That night we spent the night in the Snoqualmie Casino‘s parking lot and we got to listen to the outdoors Air Supply concert. That was kind of fun.    It was really HOT that night and kind of noisy in the parking lot so we did not get much sleep.  We got up early and headed to Kachess campground and lake.    We got there super early and had the entire day to play!

First thing we did is find the PERFECT site on the water!  Site 175 was on the end and a short trail to the water.

We had a great view of the lake from camp….

Then we took a walk to pay the $24. for our site.  We started our walk down by the water.  There was a nearby forest fire so it was kind of smokey but what a beautiful lake…..

Then we head up the creek…..

There were some cool trees along the way….

Then mommy found a trail that took us up the canyon….

And the next thing you know, we are going to the TOP of the rocks!

It was a great view even with all of the smoke….

It was kind of the long walk to pay for our campsite but the 4 miles was well worth it!  I am used to mommy and I never know where we will end up!

Then we had to get out on that lake on our SUP.  The water was so clear that you could see the bottom even when it was really deep!  I swam and swam and swam!

Then we went back to camp because our friend Jessica and Gretel from the blog,  “You did what with your Weiner” were coming to visit.

After they left, we hung out at camp and mommy read and I chased squirrels.  One tried to hitch a ride in Spirit but I chased him away.  There is only room for one animal on this journey!

It was a nice night and the lake was calling our name so we went on a sunset paddle and swim. I love it when mommy swims with me.  We race and it is a lot of fun…

The sunset was pretty and it was a great end to an epic day!

I slept great that night, especially after my active day!

It was REALLY smoky, the fire seems to be getting worse which is a real bummer…..

We took a short paddle on the lake but the smoke was burning our eyes and it was raining ash so we had to cut our stay short and head west.  We are not sure where our next stop will be so stay tuned…..
