Doggy Road Trip to Kernville

Last week mommy and I went on a doggy road trip to Kernville! It was so much fun that I slept for 2 days straight when we got home!! It was the ultimate trip as we went hiking, swimming and more hiking and swimming!  Oh yea, and I got to play with my ball too!

Our car took us to Kernville in the Sierra Mountains south of the Sequoia National Forest.  After the 4 1/2 hour drive we landed at a HUGE lake that we practically had all to ourselves!  Mommy threw the ball and I swam and swam and swam!  Then we checked into a really cool cabin resort called, Falling Waters.

The owner was really cool and him and mommy talked about white water rafting which apparently mommy used to do a lot of before I came along.

The following morning we got up really early and headed north to see the biggest trees that I have ever seen!  There were squirrels everywhere!  We had the trail all to ourselves and it was really cool. Mommy was making me pose in front of the big trees so that you could tell how small I really am.  Then she kept finding other hikes that we got all to ourselves–one was far back this road and we got to slide down rocks into the water.  I made a game of rolling the ball down the rock and then jumping in after it. Mommy was happy cause she got to read her book while I entertained myself. I have to say that water was pretty darn cold but you got used to it after awhile.

Then we hiked back to a HUGE waterfall.  Mommy is never satisfied and always wonders what is around the next corner so then we had to hike to the bottom of the water fall.  She wouldn’t allow me to go swimming because she said that the water would take me downstream or something like that so we had to pose for another picture.  Mommy set her timer this time so that she could be in it–that took a while but she gave me treats when I posed for her so it was worth it!

In 2 days, we did 7 hikes in all and I got to swim at almost all of them.  The days that we didn’t hike, I still got to swim cause we went to the lake so mommy could read and I could dig holes in the sand and swim.

It was the ultimate vacation, my mommy is the bestest!!  We missed our Leash Your Fitness friends but it was really fun to get away. Enjoy the pictures since I had to pose for all of them for you (click on image to enlarge and to see ALL our pics, click here)
