Dog Friendly Road Trip to Solvang

Our road trip to Solvang was so much fun!  We stayed in a really nice campground, unlike the ones we normally stay in, this one had these HUGE cars.  Mommy called them RV’s!  I was thinking it would be fun to travel in one of those, I could play ball while daddy drove!  The campground was called Flying Flags RV Park and the only bad, VERY BAD thing about it is that it had a Dog Wash!! Can you believe that?  Don’t they know that you are supposed to be dirty when you camp! Although, mommy liked the showers a lot, I was glad the dog wash was out of service!  The town was very dog friendly.  I was allowed in all of the stores and there were bowls of water for me everywhere!

My daddy was in a very long bicycle ride so mommy and I went hiking. It was the coolest hike! We hiked up a mountain for 4 miles and when we got to the top, the view was AMAZING! I don’t really care about views but this one was cool because I don’t know if you know this about me but I LOVE water!! The view had water on both sides! Lake Cachuma was on one and the Pacific Ocean was on the other! Check out this short video to see for yourself!  The hike was called Tequepis Trail and we would highly recommend it BUT make sure you go early as it can get hot.  We were lucky that it was very shaded most of the way up.

After the hike, mommy snuck me into Cachuma Lake just for a few minutes to get cooled off and to wash off the ticks. (Yep! there were a lot of ticks crawling on me from the hike, pretty gross, huh??) I wish I could have swam longer because the water felt really good but we had to get back to see daddy finish the long 100 mile bike ride.

I slept so good after all of that activity.  I even cuddled in the sleeping bag with my daddy all night long and I am NOT a cuddler!   The next day, we went on a little hike to Nojoqui Falls.  Mommy said we were going to a water fall so I was excited to go swimming again.  But there wasn’t much water to swim in so I was sad! So instead, I got to climb a tree with mommy!!  Don’t believe me, check out the photos (put cursor on photo to see description) !!  See you on our next adventure in a few weeks!
