On October 10th and 11th a group of 8 Leash Your Fitness runners participated in the Vail Lake Ragnar Trail Relay – over 24 hours of running 3 trails each, totaling 116 miles! This race is a physical, mental, and emotional challenge. But our runners trained hard and conquered it! With a team name crediting our favorite training partners, the Trail Dogs ran an unforgettable race! The event started on Friday morning at 11:00am. Do you like to run? Do you add hills to your runs? How about sand hills? Our Saturday run class moves around so we can try running in various trails and areas around San Diego. It is a fun way to get to know the trails and mix it up a little! This past Saturday, we decided it was too hot to run anywhere but Fiesta Island! It was time to get some sand in our shoes! What a fun morning! We took the dogs up the many sand dunes on the inside of the island.
Read more →This past weekend, the Leash Your Fitness team did something that we NEVER do!! We did a running events that was NOT dog friendly!! Our pups said…..WHAT??? So we did what ANY person in our position who LOVES their pup would do, we took blown up photos of them and ran with those! The best part, we didn’t have to pick up any poop!! haha The Ragnar Trail Relay is a 24 hour relay race. There were 3 laps. A yellow, 6 mile lap. A green, 3.4 mile lap that was chock full of hills. Read more →Last weekend our Leash Your Fitness trail running class was running in Scripps Ranch when we came upon an off leash Pit Bull with his dad & mom. The dad proceeded to call him & the Pit Bull didn’t respond & eventually ran over to his mom. He wasn’t bothering us at all & we kept running. As we ran by, the dad started beating the dog for not listening & a gal in our group told ( well she actually screamed at) the dad that beating your dog is not the answer & if you are doing that in public than

Celebrate Trail Running Classes I say celebrating because these gals not only ran, but they balanced on logs, did pushups, jumped over tables, & swung from monkey bars and NO they weren’t seven years old!
