Happy Summer, LYF! blog readers! This time, I’m bringing you TWO book reviews- because I just read both of them recently and can’t stop raving about either one! I highly, HIGHLY recommend both of Neil Abramson’s books (Unsaid, and Just Life). I couldn’t put either one of them down. The first, Unsaid, is the author’s debut novel. Abramson introduces us to veterinarian, Helena, who recently passed away. Helena is afraid to enter heaven, fearing that all of the dogs she’s ever euthanized will be there, waiting for her, judging her for her actions- did she wait too long? or set

This months the book of the month is Jack’s Journey USA written by the founder of Leash Your Fitness, Dawn Celapino and her trusty companion, Jack. We thought that we would share some of the book reviews from Good Reads and from Amazon with you and you can decide for yourself, are you ready for the adventure!? The main character, Janet McPhail is a fifties-ish woman who divides her time between her photography career, and her dog’s herding, tracking and agility pursuits. Jay, the Australian shepherd, is Janet’s canine counterpart. Other characters include a couple of cats, and various friends and their dogs. Janet also seems to find herself stumbling into solving the occasional mystery. This book begins with the curious case

She has a way of telling familiar stories, with an interesting, and slightly different, twist. With each of her books, her skill and talent as a storyteller improves and while The Dog Who Danced is probably still my favorite of hers, The Dog Who Saved Me is her best work yet. Our story begins with former K-9 officer, Cooper Harrison, struggling to reconcile his life after the loss of his partner, and watching

The story begins with the passing of a close family friend, which prompts the author to think back to the day they met, and then chronicle her experiences through veterinary school and private practice. The title is a misnomer, coined by the author’s then two-year-old, after the loss of the family dog. The child, unfamiliar with the concept of “heaven”, confuses the word with one he knows- “Kevin”. Thus, the belief that all dogs pass on
