Camping with 34 dogs

Yes, you read the title right! Mommy took 34 dogs camping on our 7th annual Leash Your Fitness camp trip!  It was a BLAST!!

Mommy and I went to the camp spot at Lake Morena on Thursday so we could get some pre-hikes in and to check out the water for everyone!  I accidentally fell in the water!  Mommy was not happy because it was really gross!  And the scary part is that they say we can’t swim here because this is our drinking water!! YIKES!!

I made up for it on our pre-hike by hanging out in some flowers so I would smell nice again! I liked smelling bad much better!

The next morning, mommy left me with Uncle Rick and her and Aunt Crystal went for a hike. I had to rest my paw because I overdid it a little on the first day.  They hiked to the Morena Butte.  Mommy got some cool pictures from the top!  It was a pretty good hike, definitely  not for the beginner hiker!

All of the action happened on Friday when everyone showed up!  It was so cool!  We had 17 sites reserved. This year, we had 7 RV’s and a 10+ tents!  Our RV group is growing and we are getting spoiled!  After we took a walk through the field and down to the lake, Dave cooked us an amazing dinner.  Dave comes every year and cooks for everyone so nobody has to bring food or anything!  He does an incredible job and the grownups really appreciate him!! Us dogs don’t really make out on the deal, we have to stay behind bars while everyone eats! That part kind of sucks!

After dinner, we hung out by the fire and told stories. It was an early night because we had to get up early for a busy Saturday!

The day started with Dave cooking everyone a yummy breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage and pancakes with coffee of course! He sets up a kitchen and everything!

We then took off on our hike.  Mommy planned the hike so everyone could start together no matter their physical limitations.  We had a lot of people AND dogs on the trip with injuries and they were limited how far that they could go.  Mommy wanted everyone to at least hike a little!  Mostly everyone made it to the turnaround point.

Half of the group went back on the same trail and the other half continued on the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). The PCT runs 2650 miles from Mexico to Canada but we didn’t do the entire thing!  We only did 3 miles of it.  Well most of us did!  Someone got a ride for part of it!

It was a fun hike and we stopped a few times for water and TREATS!  We had yummy Buckley treats and we shared them with all of my friends and they LOVED them!  They are perfect little bite sized snacks for hiking!

It was getting hot so we headed back to camp.  We got to see some cool overlooks of the lake and park on the way.

That night, mommy had a camp gadget contest.  It was really fun to watch! Uncle Rick even brought a marshmallow blower!  He is so crazy.  The funniest thing was Aunt Bobbi brought a portable porta-potty with a selfie stick as the toilet paper holder!  She is so funny!  The winner was Uncle Rob with his solar charger with a blue tooth radio!  It was cool, if I had anything to charge!

Dave then cooked another yummy dinner of stir fry.  We had 3 birthday’s to celebrate so Aunt Cathy & Aunt Terri made cupcakes and cake.  The grownups sure were happy about that!

Mommy had everyone pick their dogs up and put them on their laps!  We have some spoiled dogs!  Most of them have sweaters on and Kenzie has her own blanket!  I have to admit that since I got my haircut, I got a little cold this year and daddy covered me up but my blanket was NOT pink!

The next morning, it was a little cold.  It was like we were having a pajama party at camp!

After another yummy breakfast, everyone took off on the PCT going the other way. (north)

Everyone could go at their own pace and just turn around and head back to camp when they wanted.  It was fun hiking with the group!

Aunt Cathy even came and she is having a total hip replacement in 2 weeks!  She is a rockstar!

It was a really fun weekend full of activity, laughs and great friends.  Mommy was so happy that everyone had a good time and nobody got hurt or anything!  She wanted me to tell everyone for coming.  It is always a super good time.  Our camp trips are by invite only to those who come to our classes and on our hikes.  That way we know everyone and that really helps, plus we can’t invite everyone!  If you want to come next year, start coming to class!

If you need a tent, Stephanie and Rob probably have room in theres!  It was big enough for everyone! haha

We ate a lot of yummy food,  drank a lot of water and did a lot of activity!! I am one tired dog!
