Halloween: Doggy Style

What a FUN weekend we had celebrating Halloween doggy style!  As much as I HATE wearing a costume every year, I LOVED all of the treats that I got!  Let me tell you about our Halloween adventures!

It all started after our Leash Your Fitness hike on Saturday.  Mommy and I came home and we both got a bath (so that didn’t start things off well!)  and then we got dressed in our silly costumes!  

Mommy insists on  having a theme every year and this year’s theme was football!  At least she had sense enough to get me a football player costume and not a cheerleader! That would have been the icing on the cake for me!  I had to wear this goofy football player costume that was for a little boy complete with a helmet! Everyone knows that dogs do not like things on our heads!  Mommy was a referee which was PERFECT for her! She loves blowing that darn whistle!

We headed to The Original Paw Pleasers for their halloween costume contest!  It was fun because Aunt Lorree always has yummy treats! She had bone broth with yummy hot dogs and pretty pink treats for us dogs and yummy treats for the humans too! She is a good cook!  It was fun to see all of the funny costumes.  Guess who came in 2nd place! You guessed it!  Me and mommy! We won some Bravo dog food which made it worth my while for all of this nonsense!

After my tummy was full, we headed out to East County Camp Bow Wow where Aunt Crystal had a booth for their Halloween festivities.  Man! There were some fancy costumes there and Aunt Crystal and Larry looked very cute!  I was so over my costume by then plus it was very hot out there so mommy took it off of me.

The fun didn’t stop on Saturday! Oh no! It had just begun! Mommy had a really fun Leash Your Fitness football themed class!

Some of the gals even wore their costumes during the entire class!   It was crazy watching the people and their pups do football drills.  Of course the dogs were trying to get the footballs.  They even played a game of football and those ladies were very competitive!  

After class, everyone got dressed in their football themed costumes.  Salem from Markim Pet, Nedra from Reiki for All Creatures and Danielle representing Paw Pleasers did NOT have an easy judging this contest.  

There were some really good duo’s including Carol as a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader!  But there always has to be a winner and you can check out the photos HERE to see who the top 5 winners were. After class, mommy made me go and be in the darn OB Pet Parade!  Can you believe it! I was not happy but Mommy LOVES Halloween and they did have hotdogs there so I made the best of it!  I couldn’t even believe the crazy costumes people and their dogs were wearing!  Mommy took lots of photos to share with you because there were some very unique costumes and you may get some ideas for next year!  I just hope Mommy doesn’t get any ideas for next year!
