The Possibility Dogs: What a Handful of “Unadoptables” Taught Me About Service, Hope, and Healing
by Susannah Charleson
The follow-up to author, pilot, and Search and Rescue volunteer, Susannah Charleson’s debut autobiography, Scent of the Missing (the book was the subject of a made-for-tv movie in 2012) is a warm and entertaining read. In this book, the author details her latest journey: evaluating and training shelter dogs as service and assistance dogs for people in need. Along the way, she discovers her own dog, one she happened upon unexpectedly, also has an affinity for the job, and details training him to become her own assistance dog as her own health takes a turn. This book is a humorous and uplifting autobiography, full of hope and healing. As always, Charleson is accompanied by the antics of her pups. Puzzle and the poms provide comic relief as well as life lessons. Readers are sure to enjoy and be inspired by this life adventure.
