We LOVE doing fitness related activities with our dogs but we also like to do other “dog related” activities that are not necessarily burning calories! As a matter of fact, sometimes we are consuming calories!  The Leash Your Fitness family got together for a Paint Your Pooch party at Paint N Vineyard in Scripps Ranch. Although the dogs weren’t invited, they were present in another way,  we painted pictures of them!

We started the evening with a festive “Pumpkin Themed Potluck” complete with pumpkin hot chocolate, pumpkin dip, pumpkin cake, pumpkin salad and other pumpkin and fall related foods! Everything was very yummy and it gave us energy to get to work!! We had submitted photos of our dogs to Jeff at Paint N Vineyard prior to coming to class.  The pre-sketched dogs made our job a little bit easier but for us non-artists, we still had our work cut out for us.  Everything was included so we were off with our smocks and our paint brushes to create our masterpieces.  A few of the gals were really good! They didn’t even require much help from the instructors, and then there was those of us who needed all of the help that we could get! I think the only part that I got right was the tennis ball!!

It was a ton of fun and the finished products will be a great memory and reminder how much we love our dogs!

Another fun event that we went to but this time we TOOK our dogs is the Bates Nut Farm.  We had fun posing our dogs alongside the giant pumpkins, hay bails and even on the train!! Yes, we can be a little goofy at times but hey, we have fun! Just click on image to enlarge and scroll through the show!
