Wow!! What a fun day we had at the Helen Woodward Surfing Event! My friends were RIPPING it on the waves!! It was a really nice and hot day so the water felt extra good although, I would go in the water while it was snowing because I love to swim!! My daddy is getting a little better at the surfing thing and as soon as that happens, I will be ripping it with my friends! For now, I hang on for dear life! It is a lot of fun though and it is a good workout for both me and my mommy and daddy!
My friend, Kenzie, was showing off big time!! It was her first contest and she was riding the waves like a pro. She is like a model too, so pretty! My girlfriend, Cleo was riding the waves like a champ!! Her mom, Arden Moore was so proud of her little girl! My friend, Kiwi came in third. I was so happy for him even though he knocked me off of my board (I don’t THINK he meant to!) My friend, Dozer, came in FIRST!! It was a BIG year for him as he also wrote a children’s book and was paw-tographing them at the event. If you want to check it out, click HERE.
The ending to the event was the awards ceremony but it was also something very special. My friend, Nani was inducted
into the Helen Woodward Surfing Hall of Fame! Nani & his dad, Peter have been instrumental in so many of us dogs learning to surf that I can’t think of a better honor to give to them. Nani retired from surfing last year but he will ALWAYS be my hero! Check out Nani’s bio HERE.
I feel so lucky to have such active friends and parents that do fun stuff with me so I NEVER get bored! Surfing is really fun and great exercise as it really works our whole body and our balance!! Plus, we get to swim when we fall off AND we get to play in the sand at the beach! I hope that you enjoy the photos and consider taking your dog surfing next year with us!
