Follow My Lead is Carol Quinn’s autobiographical experience about training her pair of Rhodesian Ridgebacks in the dog sport of Agility. Part novel, part self-help book, this slim paperback is one you’ll find yourself wanting to keep close at hand. There are so many inspirational quotes and thought-provoking revelations to ponder. For me, it’s one of those books that’s almost like a devotional- little snippets of meaningful life advice coming at just the right time, to be bookmarked and read again and again.

This book is a thought-provoking, insightful work which highlights how we can learn important life lessons from our attempts at training, communicating with and understanding our dogs. For every personal dilemma the author discovers herself struggling against, the wise Russian trainer, Irina, whom Carol Quinn is learning Agility at the feet of, has a dog-related skill or challenge for her pupil to master. Irina’s no-nonsense approach is the push the author always seems to need, in order to take charge of her own life and live it to the fullest.

Full of quotable wisdom, as well as witty anecdotal asides, Follow My Lead will inspire and entertain readers and dog lovers. I laughed, I cried- I nodded my head in agreement at the truth of the words on the pages so many times.
