Loews Surf Dog Competition

Yesterday was my first surf dog competition and I have mixed feelings about it. I LOVE to swim but man was that water cold! Plus those waves were kicking my little butt!  I think that I have to get used to the whole surfing thing and my mommy has to get used to pushing me gently in the waves.  She isn’t very good at that part so I kept falling off! I had the best time with my mentor and friend, Nani, from the So Cal Surf Dogs.   She is such a cool dog and LOVES to surf.  I feel better when I am on the board with her. My picture was even in the Washington Post surfing with Nani. Just when I thought that I had her all to myself, Peter added 4 other dogs as well! It was crazy! 5 of us were on the surf board at the same time!  We got 2nd place for performing this crazy act.  People were snapping pictures left and right!  San Diego Pets Magazine got this cool shot……

I had fun with my friends and it was a beautiful day to be at the beach.  Mommy and I will keep practicing for the next competition in September so maybe I won’t fall off as much!  After all, it is not about winning, it is about enjoying the ride!
