We are finally going to Arizona!! We were supposed to go in February but it was too cold so we went to Idyllwild instead which was super fun cause I got to play in the snow!
Exactly 4 years to the day that mommy bought Spirit, we were off on another adventure. We decided to finally check out Quartzsite, AZ. It is where a lot of RV people go so we spent the night there. It was FREE plus we loaded up with water. Double Score!

Sunday, morning we got up and left early for Lake Pleasant, we were there a year ago and we loved it. We knew it would be crowded. We usually avoid lakes on the weekends but mommy promised a friend that she would teach her and her pup how to SUP. I didn’t care, I was so excited to see water!

We got there and it was crazy crowded!

We found a spot that we could hang out until the crowds cleared out later in the day. Cheyenne and Sophie arrived and on the water we went. They did really good and had a ton of fun! They are hooked and now want to get a SUP of their own. We love introducing people to knew activities that they can do with their dog!

After they left, our friend Shelley arrived with her 3 dogs. They were planning on spending a few days with us before she heads back to freezing cold Wisconsin! So the 4 brown dogs were together again! I love my brown dog friends!

It was awesome. Everyone left and we got the peninsula all to ourselves. Mommy had Shelley park her jeep in the front of Spirit so nobody would take that prime piece of real estate and it worked!

The sad part was all of the trash that people left. Shelley and mommy cleaned up the entire area so us dogs wouldn’t eat anything bad. They found these cool glasses so now we see everything in “rose colored glasses” haha

Mommy and I went on another little paddle and then got settled in for our 4 day stay. The next morning, we woke to a beautiful sunrise. It was supposed to be windy but it was a great day.

We took off on the SUP and had breakfast on a desert island! We always wanted to say that!

We paddled most of the morning cause it was such a perfect day! I had a great time and I am FINALLY relaxing on the SUP and not wanting to swim every minute.

Don’t get me wrong, I got my fair share of swimming in!

We paddled over to where we stayed last year. Check out the difference in the water levels.

After dinner we went for a sunset hike up the road. It was a really cool view of where we were staying.

And of the lake…

The following day was a little chilly so after our morning SUP, we all went in the jeep and went hiking on a trail that Shelley knew about.

It wasn’t very long but it ended at water so we got to have fun swimming!

Then Shelley took us on one of her great adventures in the jeep! She takes that thing down some gnarly hills! It was fun! I got to sit in the front so I felt special!

The last full day there, mommy and I went on a SUP to the marina. It was finally warm enough for mommy to go swimming. It was fun swimming with her even though she always takes my toy!

When we got back, Zippy went out on the SUP with mommy. He was so nervous but he didn’t fall in. He did great! He loves to swim so I am surprised that he didn’t jump off!

Shelley made us a yummy dinner on the fire. I kept an eye on it so that nobody would steal it.

Our new friend, Jerry, ate dinner with us and we got a little goofy!

After dinner we watched an amazing sunset!

It was sad to leave Shelley and her fur kids the next day. They are a lot of fun and since we met them 3 years ago in Arkansas, we have camped with them a few times in Arizona and once in Northern California where Shelley was a camp host. We hope to see them again..

On the way out we stopped at the dump station and look who was hanging out! The burros that we kept hearing every single night!

We were “supposed” to head to Woods Canyon lake but we found out it was going to be windy and cold so we changed plans as we sometimes (ok, usually!) do and headed to Prescott, AZ. So stay tuned for that adventure…..
Thanks for joining us!
