Wow! It has been a few months since we have posted in our blog. Jack and I got home from our 6 week road trip to the Pacific Northwest in October and we have been non-stop!
Of course we had our Halloween classes and events and the girls went all out with some super fun costumes. Then we had had a blast over the holidays with workout classes through the holiday lights in Poway, the UCSD campus and a scavenger hunt through Balboa Park. We try very hard to make fitness fun for you and your pup.
KUSI news did a story of the importance of getting fit with your dog and who do you think they called? Leash Your Fitness because we make fitness FUN and we have something for eveyrone!! You can watch the segment HERE!
The hikes were slow going because of the hot weather but they are back and we have some new locations for you this year. We also have some new Dog Yoga locations as well.

We have also been super busy educating people on how to detox their homes and lives with essential oils. Did you know that one in two dogs are getting diagnosed with cancer. The people stats aren’t much better. We are surrounded with chemicals both in the air and with what we are using on our skin, in our laundry and in our cleaning products. After Jack’s brain tumor diagnosis, I started switching one thing out at a time. He is no longer on any flea meds or any chemicals and I have switched out my laundry detergent, skin care, cleaning products and even my OTC meds to essential oils. They are all natural like in plants & trees!
The company we use, Young Living, is the oldest essential oil company and they are the ONLY essential oil company to own or partner with all of their own farms. The founder, Gary Young, was instrumental in the development of many of the distillation processes, which is very important. You can read about their Seed to Seal program HERE.
If you see an essential oil or even CBD oil, you have to ask if it has been distilled with a solvent? If it is cheap, then most likely it has and you don’t want that around your pet. Many even say “do not use on the skin” on their bottles. If you are trying to get rid of chemicals, don’t buy cheap oils and substitute one chemical for another ESPECIALLY around your dog.
I have been researching oils for over a year now, I believe in what I know and what is safe. We have a private Facebook Oil Education group and weekly emails to educate anyone that purchases oils from us BECAUSE we want them to use them in a safe and effective way. Do you get that when you purchase oils from Sprouts or Amazon?
Essential oils are the basis for many medications without the side effects. They are safe and natural IF you get the correct ones. They only have to be 5% organic to say “Organic” on the label. We have heard from people that say that their oils are leaving a film on their walls and clogging their diffuser–those aren’t natural! I have had my diffuser for over a year and it still looks new and I have NEVER even cleaned it!
Recently there was a FB post that went viral about a lady that bought cheap oils from Amazon and used them on her cat and her cat died. That sucks and is so sad. But, it happened because 1/ the oils were synthetic 2/ she used an oil on a cat that wasn’t safe, cats don’t have the liver enzymes to handle many oils. She didn’t know because nobody EDUCATED her.
I am telling you all of this because 1/ I want you to start thinking about YOUR health and the health of YOUR DOG. 2/ I want you to know, just like supplements–there is NO regulation on oils so just like everything else–it is all about marketing and what companies WANT you to believe.
