Last week my theme on Facebook was: Because I Can. Why was I doing that? Because I feel that many people WASTE their health. They take for granted what they CAN do. I watch people wait for the elevator when they could probably get their faster by taking the stairs. I watch people wait for the closest parking spot when they could have parked further away and got in the store quicker. I watch people drive to work when they could take their bikes and save on parking. I watch people waste their life on social media and reality tv when they can be out living their own!
- Do you know someone that is disabled and would love to be able to walk further than they can?
- Do you know someone who has a hard time breathing and would love to be able to take the stairs?
- Do you know someone who has depressed auto immune system like cancer that would love to go out but can’t?
I don’t expect you to run stairs with a 20 lb vest on but you can take the stairs instead of the elevator…

I don’t expect people to do 48 pull-ups like I did on my 48th birthday or climb a pole but you can increase your upper body strength with weights or body weight exercises, you can even add stuff to your daily dog walk.

I don’t expect you to do a dog yoga class but you can add some stretches into your day to help you with your balance and flexibility.

I don’t expect you to run to the top of a mountain but you can go hiking or try out new areas to walk your dog or just walk further on your daily walk!

What else CAN YOU DO to not take your health for granted? Think of ways you can add movement into your day because some day when you aren’t able to, you will wish you could!
We would LOVE to hear from you. In the meantime, you can change the word “run” to whatever activity you like to do swim, walk, rollerblade, bike ride, hike, …….
