Crested Butte is BEAUTIFUL

Thanks so much for continuing to follow our journey!  Mommy and I are home now in San Diego. We logged in 10,013 miles in 25 states.  We feel very blessed to be safe and have memories that will last a lifetime.   We are excited to share our last few stops with you, they were a few of the best!

We hated to leave the campsite at Twin Lakes!! We didn’t think we would want to stay here and it has been a GREAT stop and we loved it!!

We got on the road to Crested Butte, Colorado after saying good-bye to Bill and his wife, they were the campground hosts extraordinaire! So friendly and helpful!

The drive down route 24 was beautiful. Lots of raging water and cool scenery.

We stopped in Buena Vista because mommy needed to use the WI-FII somewhere but it was so crowded! The holiday weekend plus a car show and farmers market was too much for us. Lucky for us that we just happened to park next to a hotel with free WI-FII! How lucky is that? Mommy got some work done in the RV and I slept!

We got on the 50 and had to go over Monarch Pass. It was raining and the road was super steep! We passed right over the Continental Divide!

If you have never been to Crested Butte, you are missing out. It is such a cute little town. It was kind of rainy when we arrived around 4 p.m. so we just walked around the town.

Remember those people that we met at the dump station in Leadville last week? We are meeting them and staying next to them in Gunnison National Forest! Mommy met them at a bar to watch the World Cup Soccer and I guess the US women WON!! I stayed in the RV and slept some more!

We headed out to the camping area. It was on a dirt road called Washington Gulch. We had to take it a few miles over some bumps until we got to the place where Drea and Seth were camping. OMG! It was BEAUTIFUL! Look where we camped!

I had so much fun chasing all of the critters!

It was like a dog park. Everyone around us had dogs and they were all running around so happy. Dogs don’t have to be leashed in the National Forest and we all loved it!

The next day was a little chilly and cloudy. It was fun to go out and run around the flowers, I even stopped and smelled a few of them. They smelled so pretty!

Our other neighbors, Kim and Ken own The Nordic Inn in Crested Butte, they have a house there too but they love it out here so much that they just spend a lot of time in their trailer here. Their little Boston Terriers go everywhere with them, even skiing. He really liked mommy, can you tell?  Check out how active they are on this short VIDEO.

Kim dropped us off at the Snodgrass trailhead. It was a super fun hike and not too difficult. Mommy and I are both tired today so this hike was perfect. It was 3 miles each way but we took a few side trails along the way.

There were a lot of mountain bikers on the trail and we had to keep watching for them. A few of them even had their dogs. Dogs are super active around here! We love that!

Mommy took lots of photos of the beautiful views with the flowers and the mountains.

We walked home from the trail and saw some horses that were camped near us. They had a dog running with them too!

Since I accidentally rolled in horse poop AGAIN mommy let me go in the stream by our RV. It wasn’t real deep but it did the trick.

We ended our 9 mile hike just in time for the rain to start. Mommy took a hot shower in the RV & I took a nap!

The sun came back out and we got a new neighbor. Chris just got this new retro camper. He lives in it full time too. We are meeting lots of full time campers!

Who knows, maybe someday we will be full time campers too. I think I could get used to this life!  Camping next to our new friends in flower fields overlooking mountains!

Wait until you see where we go tomorrow. We weren’t planning on stopping here but what the heck, why not see as much as we can so we can share it with YOU! Stay tuned!

Thanks again for following our journey.  We have a few more stops that you won’t want to miss.  We LOVE Colorado!!  So…

Keep on following up here!
