MM: Join a Team

Today’s Motivation Monday is inspired by our weekend in Tahoe.  Our Trail Dogs team did a 24 hour trail race called Ragnar.  It is a relay race with 8 people.  We had a 3 mile, 5.8 mile and 7.1 mile loop and each time you run, you run a different loop.   We take turns running consistently to everyone runs all 3 laps.  It was 129 miles, took us 29 hours and we DID IT! A few gals flew and we packed  5 gals in a loaded Suburban and headed to Tahoe!     It was a super fun weekend […]

Wet Weekend

Wet Weekend

What better way to spend a summer weekend than in the water!  This past weekend the Leash Your Fitness dogs did just that!  It was a WET WEEKEND and we loved it! Saturday, we took 20 dogs out on kayaks.  Yes! I said 20!  It was such a fun group.     We even had a first timer who did GREAT! Bella jumped in once but then she just enjoyed the ride!     Our parents paddled to Fiesta Island and then us dogs had fun swimming and playing with our toys.     It was a beautiful morning on […]

MM: Because I can

MM: Because I can

Last week my theme on Facebook was:  Because I Can.  Why was I doing that?  Because I feel that many people WASTE their health.  They take for granted what they CAN do.  I watch people wait for the elevator when they could probably get their faster by taking the stairs.  I watch people wait for the closest parking spot when they could have parked further away and got in the store quicker.  I watch people drive to work when they could take their bikes and save on parking.  I watch people waste their life on social media and reality tv […]

Books by Neil Abramson

Books by Neil Abramson

Happy Summer, LYF! blog readers! This time, I’m bringing you TWO book reviews- because I just read both of them recently and can’t stop raving about either one! I highly, HIGHLY recommend both of Neil Abramson’s books (Unsaid, and Just Life). I couldn’t put either one of them down. The first, Unsaid, is the author’s debut novel. Abramson introduces us to veterinarian, Helena, who recently passed away. Helena is afraid to enter heaven, fearing that all of the dogs she’s ever euthanized will be there, waiting for her, judging her for her actions- did she wait too long? or set […]

Shaver Lake

Sometimes I make out when mommy’s plans fall through!  She was supposed to go visit my Aunt Lynn & cousin Andrew in Colorado & go white water rafting (without me!) and something came up and they couldn’t go.  She was sad not to get to see her family and she had a conference that she probably should have went to but decided to take me camping instead!   Since it was only a week before we were going to go and it was June and very hot we were limited as to where would be a fun place to hang […]
