Dog friendly roadtrip ends

Dog friendly roadtrip ends

We are so sad that we are heading home after this incredible journey and a very dog friendly road trip!  It has been 2 weeks of swimming, hiking, relaxing and fighting for the front seat!  What a FUN adventure!   We still couldn’t believe our disappointment at Clear Lake!  They must change the name of that lake, if you missed that part of our journey, make sure you go back and read it so that it doesn’t happen to you too!  You can read it HERE! Good thing I have such cool parents that spoil me and love water just […]

Ragnar Trail Relay

Ragnar Trail Relay

On October 10th and 11th a group of 8 Leash Your Fitness runners participated in the Vail Lake Ragnar Trail Relay – over 24 hours of running 3 trails each, totaling 116 miles!  This race is a physical, mental, and emotional challenge.  But our runners trained hard and conquered it!  With a team name crediting our favorite training partners, the Trail Dogs ran an unforgettable race! The event started on Friday morning at 11:00am.  From that point on, one of the Trail Dogs was ALWAYS running until Saturday at 3:00pm.  Each runner took a turn on the Red Loop (3.9 miles of very challenging […]

Be more like your dog

Be more like your dog

Have you ever wanted to be as brave as your dog and just let someone know how you felt about them?  I watch Jack with other dogs and he either: Smells their behind because he is interested. Plays with them because he likes them (it usually doesn’t last long). Ignores them. Growls at them to say stay away. But what do we as people do when we are in the same area as someone?  We smile, make small talk and make the best of it even if we don’t want to all of the time!  Can you imagine if we […]

Monday Move It: Squat Repeats

Monday Move It: Squat Repeats

We can all spare 2 minutes of our day, right??  During our dog walk, taking a break at work, while cooking dinner, etc.  Well 2 minutes is all you need to get this lower body exercise in: Step 1: Set a timer for 1 minute.  Do squats for that whole minute, counting how many you can do in that time. Step 2: After a short rest (30 seconds to 1 minute), do a 2nd minute of squats and see if you can beat your number from the first round! Anyone can fit this in to their day!  Make sure when […]

Traveling through the Redwoods

Traveling through the Redwoods

Welcome back to our travel blog!  Did you see that we stayed in a casino parking lot last night? My grandma and my daddy used to go to the casino to gamble every time she came to visit from Pennsylvania so we think she was watching over us when we couldn’t find a place to stay!  In honor of her, daddy put $20. in the slot machine and WON $50.!!!  So then we had to go to Grandma’s next favorite stop–COFFEE and buy a Starbucks in her honor!! It was a great morning honoring my Grandma! If you haven’t been […]

What People Are Saying

I joined LYF so I could exercise with my dog and meet new people. After two months I noticed how better toned I was, after 9 months I was down two sizes and was more fit than I had been in a long time. Besides that, my friends without dogs are envious of how much fun I have, hiking, kayaking, surfing, running in a 5K. If you want to have fun with your dog, meet great people and get fit, come join us.” — Diane
