Getting Stronger on her trail runs

Getting Stronger on her trail runs

One of our very favorite people, Ana C., is having so much success on her trail runs that we wanted to highlight her achievements!  See how an already strong athlete and Navy Reservist got even healthier through Leash Your Fitness with her dogs Carly, Chipper, and Hines! How did you start with LYF, and how long have you been coming to classes and events? I attended the National Dog Day party at Camp Run A Mutt about 2 years ago and won a raffle prize for a free month of classes. So its been about 2 years and a half since I’ve […]

Sycamore Canyon 100k

Our runners have really come a long way!  On Saturday February 28th, two Leash Your Fitness run teams completed the inaugural Sycamore Canyon 100k in Poway AND came in 1st and 2nd place for women’s relay teams!  The 4-person teams were made up of Danielle Casteel, Lisa Peterson, Diane Cheryll and Stephanie Oba (1st place!); Naomi Hillery, Cathy Hardalo, Ana Chacon, and Nicole Kuczak – with pup Dash for 1 lap (2nd place!).  Jessica Morrell deserves a shout-out too for training all the way up to the event.  Unfortunately she was injured and could not race, but still made it out […]

Have you ever been around someone that just sucked the life out of you with their negativity?  What did you do about it?  Did you try to cheer that person up or did you wallow in depression with them? Being around negative people is not fun and quite honestly it is not good for you. I recently read a book about a dog […]

MIM: Arm Circles

MIM: Arm Circles

Arm circles are a simple exercise to add to your daily dog walk or any other time of day for that matter!  This move will strengthen and tone your shoulders, back, biceps, and triceps.  But don’t think because it’s a simple exercise that it will be easy!  This one is harder than it looks.  Let us know how you do! To do these: Stand tall with shoulders down and abs tight. Raise both arms to shoulder height and start making small circles forward, repeat 20 times.  Repeat going backwards.  Keep both arms moving in the same direction. Make sure to […]

What People Are Saying

I would like to also thank you for starting this new fitness idea where we can workout with our dogs. I have tried other avenues but never really enjoyed myself. I find working out fun now and think I have found something I’ll stick with. — Crystal N.
