Halloween: Doggy Style

Halloween: Doggy Style

What a FUN weekend we had celebrating Halloween doggy style!  As much as I HATE wearing a costume every year, I LOVED all of the treats that I got!  Let me tell you about our Halloween adventures!     It all started after our Leash Your Fitness hike on Saturday.  Mommy and I came home and we both got a bath (so that didn’t start things off well!)  and then we got dressed in our silly costumes!  Mommy insists on  having a theme every year and this year’s theme was football!  At least she had sense enough to get me […]

Move it Monday: Step Ups

Move it Monday: Step Ups

This week’s Move it Monday is STEP UPS!  This one is super easy to do anywhere you are, all you need is a curb or step.  Try adding this to your dog walk for a burst of cardio, or do this a couple of times during your work day to get some extra movement in!  Once you’ve got these down, try going up a set of stairs if you have access to them! For these step ups, alternate feet as you step up onto a curb or stair.  One at a time, bring each foot up so both are on […]

Penasquitos Hike with the dogs

Penasquitos Hike with the dogs

Today we had the biggest group that we have ever had on our dog friendly hikes with Leash Your Fitness.  We had 30 dogs and 30 people on the hike to the Penasquitos Waterfall! We combined the 9 runners in the run class with the 21 hikers  and it worked out great! The runners gave us a 30 minute head start.     The morning was awesome because the clouds looked really cool!  It would have been ever cooler if it had started raining,  it didn’t but the good news is that it didn’t start getting hot until we were […]

What People Are Saying

I joined LYF so I could exercise with my dog and meet new people. After two months I noticed how better toned I was, after 9 months I was down two sizes and was more fit than I had been in a long time. Besides that, my friends without dogs are envious of how much fun I have, hiking, kayaking, surfing, running in a 5K. If you want to have fun with your dog, meet great people and get fit, come join us. — Diane
