MIM: Bird Dog

MIM: Bird Dog

Today’s Move It Monday Challenge is the Bird Dog, an exercise that challenges your core, upper back, shoulders, and glutes – and even has a name to fit working out with our dogs!  These really help with posture and balance too! To do these, start in a tabletop position, with your hips above your knees and hands below your shoulders.  If you have wrist pain you can start from your forearms instead of your hands.  Slowly raise your RIGHT ARM up to shoulder height, and your LEFT LEG up to hip height at the same time.  Hold for 1 count and lower. Chiropractor for your dog

Chiropractor for your dog

Many people go to a chiropractor but has your dog ever been to a chiropractor?  Yes, I said Your Dog. Chiropractic has helped me in so many ways and my chiropractor, Dr. Ken Gilden,  also treats animals.  I was in his office one day when a man brought in his dog for chiropractic work. Volcan Mountain HIke

Volcan Mountain was a great location to move our Leash Your Fitness March hike to when we had an unseasonably warm March Saturday!  It was a BEAUTIFUL day in Julian! We got an early start and our runners and hikers set off together up the mountain at 8:30 a.m.  Remember when hiking with dogs, you have to beat the heat!   We headed up the mountain from the beautiful starting gate on the fire road.  Approximately 1/2 of a mile into the hike we turned right on to the 5 oaks single track trail. This trail is a bit more […]
