We did 4 hikes, played games, and ate well –including lots of treats for us dogs and smores by the fire for our people. We even had a dog trivia game and best tricks contest led by Arden Moore! Mommy even gave out prizes! Fun was had by all and everyone went home tired and refreshed from the mountain air!! We can’t wait for the next one if the fall!

Black Mountain Hike

Saturday, April 3rd, 2010

Leash Your Fitness had a fun group on our hike today.  I met some new friends and one even looked just like me, except he liked to be carried on the hike and I would never dream of that!  We didn’t get to go swimming but I did get to walk through a few puddles so that is almost as good.  Daddy caught a Rosy Boa snake and he introduced it to Simon but Simon wasn’t too interested! Hollis and Penny won the raffle prizes.  They got a whole dog dish filled with goodies from Natures Select, Honest Kitchen, Muttropolis and OB dog wash.  Hollis won a FREE surf lesson for Mango compliments of Happy Dog Happy Owner and Penny won a 1/2 hour massage compliments of Gilden Chiropractic.  They were really excited.  We all went to breakfast afterwards.  Our Leash Your Family is getting larger and we love everyone in our family!! Thanks for participating in our hike series!  Next month is our camping trip in the Laguna Mountains!

Lake Ramona Hike 2010

Saturday, March 20th, 2010

Today Leash Your Fitness returned to Lake Ramona since we liked it so much last year when we did it!  Another fun crowd and a couple of new dogs that I have never seen!  You don’t have to ask me what my favorite part was–SWIMMING!!! Mommy even brought my favorite ball to fetch in the water–I was racing the big dogs but they didn’t know who they were messing with!  Sure was fun! Three favorite things: getting dirty, going swimming and playing with the ball and I got to do ALL 3 today! After the hike –all of the humans went to lunch and us dogs got to sleep under the table.  Of course, I wanted to swim in the fountain outside the restaurant so mommy put me in time out because I wouldn’t quit bugging her about it!

I can’t help it I LOVE TO SWIM!!

Mommy wants to thank all of our “sponsors” for the goody bag stuff and the raffle gifts:  Honest Kitchen, Muttopolis, Pamper Your Pet, Angela Costa for her AVON gift basket, and Peticures by Tess.

Enjoy the photos!

Lake Hodges Hike

Saturday, March 6th, 2010

Today the LEASH YOUR FITNESS group beat the rain and got to go hiking–it didn’t matter to us dogs if it rained because we got to go SWIMMING!!  The big dogs were all playing in the water and we were all having a BLAST!!  I met a lot of new friends! Two of the lucky ladies won massages in the drawing:  Julie won a doggy massage from HEALING HANDS CANINE MASSAGE and Liz won a people massage from GILDEN CHIROPRACTIC.  Special thanks to our massage therapists for their generous donations to our participants and special thanks to yummy NATURES SELECT for the goody bags and 25% off home delivery on their all natural dog food.  I love that stuff!!  After the hike the 2 -leggers went to lunch and I couldn’t keep my eye off of the fountain, (I have a swimming addiction!)  I have the coolest mommy ever–she let me swim for a little while in it!  It was a GREAT morning –the worst part was the bath at the end!! Enjoy the photos–I am going to go take a nap now…..

5th –Iron Mountain Hike

Saturday, May 9th, 2009

We did our last hike today in our series.  We started out with 6 miles flat on our first hike in January and ended with 6 miles of climbing up a moutain today!  The weather man must be on drugs because he said it was going to be cooler and it was HOT at 8 o’clock when we STARTED!!  The good news is that we didn’t see any snakes! But, I met some new friends and one of my friends got REALLY tired and had to be carried for a little while–he was new in town and not used to the heat.  He said he is going to start coming to our Leash Your Fitness classes so he can get in California shape!!

Next month –KAYAKING!!  Yeaaaaaa!!  We get to swim!!!!

Can’t wait–hope you can come……..

Hike #2!

Black Mountain–We began at 8 a.m. & good thing we started early–  It got a little toasty & us dogs don’t like it when it gets HOT! But it was a BEAUTIFUL day!  We could see downtown, the ocean and the snow on Mt Jacinto–sure do wish we were playing in the snow!!  Us dogs were very tired but mommy said we were burning a lot of calories.  The hike was 2 miles up and 2 miles down a fire road.  We had 10 people and 6 dogs.  It was  so fun–especially swimming in the BIG muddy swimming puddle!  Stay tuned for next months hike:  Lake Ramona.

Hope to see you there!

    Taking a break

    Taking a break

Three of my friends and a bunch of mommy’s friends came with us on our first hike.  We even borrowed the neighbors dog because they couldn’t go! We hiked 3 miles to a waterfall where we got to go swimming and have treats.  On our way back it got kind of hot so mommy took us the shady way back and we got to cool off in the stream.  It was a pretty easy hike.  Each month the hikes are going to get harder so make sure you come on the next one.  We are going to go on February 28th. Make sure that you sign up for the monthly newsletter so you don’t miss out on the fun–we will send you all of the information each month.
